FoxInTheBox89 Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Would you change the side to rest players? I would personally give a CM a rest and perhaps Dyer as hes bin looking tierd lately. Bring in King/Hammond and Marhez
harpendenfox Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Was for Moore if Liam is out. There may be a case for playing King for Drinky, simply to protect Drinky, who did appear to run out of steam last season. Otherwise as you were.
foxfanazer Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Any confirmation on the extent of Moore's injury? Was for Moore and I agree about giving King a game to rest Drinkwater
Ric Flair Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Wasyl for Moore. I'd keep the rest un-changed for now. If Lloyd struggles to make an impact then i'd look to get Mahrez on early in the 2nd half and if the central midfield is looking jaded then get King and/or Hammond on to shore it up. Super Kev will come on and score against his old club.
FrankieADZ Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 probably just see Wasyl in for Moore, but wouldnt be surprised if we saw Kingy/Hammond come in too.
Happy Fox Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 I would rest Drinkwater and James for Bournemouth which I see as the more challenging game as opposed to Birmingham. Hammond and King are definitely good enough to start against a lower mid table team.
Simi Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 I would rest Drinkwater and James for Bournemouth which I see as the more challenging game as opposed to Birmingham. Hammond and King are definitely good enough to start against a lower mid table team. They may be good enough, but to me it makes zero sense to break up perhaps our most effective partnership on the pitch if both are feeling fit. We're likely to be forced to break the Moore/Morgan team, so to rest DD & James and further disrupt the spine of our team seems reckless.
Libertine Dream Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 No need to rest Drinkwater, had a weeks rest between Derby and Leeds and then Leeds to Boro, didn't play against Stoke and had 10 minutes against Millwall, he's fine
BrummieFOX Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Will quite possibly be the same team but I'd quite like to see a few rested. Dyer/Knockeart for Mahrez James for King/Hammond Possibly give Nuge or Vardy a rest as they ran themselves into the ground vs. 'Boro on a very heavy pitch. Unsure whether Phillips or GTF could handle a full game though?
Foxymcoxy Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Would like to see King come in, deserves some game time and with 3 games in a week, and after the hard running on soft ground it seems reasonable to rotate a bit. Was for Moore obviously, maybe Mahrez for Dyer but making it clear to Dyer he is being rested more than dropped.
Bayfox Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Why does King deserve more game time? Because I heard he was a nice guy in training. Anyway, I think we are likely to go with the same side apart from moore, as he is looking a 3 weeks out. Birmingham will be up for a battle so it would make sense to keep james and DD together. I would expect changes for the bournemouth game as they are a more footballing side, we could get away with king in the middle and maybe leaving dyer out for at least an hour.
Foxymcoxy Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Why does King deserve more game time? Because he has been really good all season? Not saying he should be starting over DD or James generally, just every now and again he needs a game and hasn't shown any sign that he would let us down. This seems like a good chance to play.

This seems like a good chance to play. He's been ok. But he's not been as good as Drinky or James. Wouldn't have any qualms about him coming in but I wouldn't like to see our best midfield pairing split up at the minute when we're on a run like this.

Don't think they can play every game and stay at their best. The squad is there for a reason and we need to use it from time to time.
GingerrrFox Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Kasper RDL Wasyl Big Wes Konch (Tempted to say Schlupp because of the Bournemouth game and he needs a rest at some point) Mahrez (Dyer looked shagged when he came off on Saturday, would like him fresh for Bournemouth) James Drinkwater Knockaert Vardy Nugent
Lionator Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Can't believe people are talking of resting players. Get the points on the board now and we can rest them in April when we're up.
BrummieFOX Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Yea, ideally we could play the same team each week but we tried that last year didn't we?
One Legged Beaver Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Kasper De Laet Morgan Wasyl Konchesky Knockaert King Hammond Mahrez Vardy Nugent It's a risk making 3 changes to a midfield that is playing so well at the moment but I think Drinky and Dyer need a rest every now and again to avoid them burning out like last season.
GingerrrFox Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Can't believe people are talking of resting players. Get the points on the board now and we can rest them in April when we're up. Not as easy as that though, as fatigue builds from matches (3 in 7 days) the chances of injury increase drastically. Both Dyer and Konchesky being 30+ will feel it a lot more than most of our squad who are in that 20-26 range. Last season it's arguable to say that the reason Drinkwater fell off form so drastically is because he played 90 minutes in basically every game. That's why managers have squads to allow for rotation.
Dickov22 Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 He's been ok. But he's not been as good as Drinky or James. I love Andy King but James and Drinkwater are there on merit. They've had the odd rest here and there. They're both in fine form and are the absolute catalysts to whether we play well or not. It's harsh on King as he's a quality player. Just shows how good we are that a player like him can't get a game at the moment. I think Birmingham are too good a side for us to risk leaving out James or Drinkwater.
Kitchandro Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Let's not get cocky here, we still need to win these games. Resting Drinkwater is crazy, he looked fine in the second half against Boro. Now, if he's off his game or we're winning comfortably taking him off might make sense. But he's a key player and we need to pick our best team. Hammond () and King are not the same players, we can't expect to walk over the likes of Birmingham.
Kitchandro Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Yea, ideally we could play the same team each week but we tried that last year didn't we? Actually I seem to remember us making wild changes like bringing Harry Kane into the side. We also signed Wood who replaced Waghorn/Vardy.
