Jack Hobbs - Gone to Forest

If he doesn't get the personal terms he wants though he is well within his rights to sit it out at Hull until the summer even if he doesn't get to kick a ball in anger between now and then.

granted, and i understand your point.

I am working on the basis however that steve bruce, this morning, stated that bids have been accepted and that jack would be going to one of those clubs before the window shuts.

from those words I took that him staying at hull was not an option, and might have been made clear to him.

That's probably the case but contracts don't work like that. Hobbs would be much wiser financially to wait out the next few months and then choose the place he wants to play and receive a lot more money.

Keane was a part of the problem last season IMO. Just not big and strong enough. I wouldn't want Keane back at the moment.

Not saying you have jjs but it amazes me how many people either forget or don't understand what a contract means.

The amount of times people on here say so and so will be gone in the window.

Yes the club and us may want rid but while a player has a contract he holds the cards.

Why do you all think Gally won't leave.

I agree with what you are saying but it may not be the case as of now.

Konch has not accepted a lower wage cos he loves us.

The days of high wages at the end of a contract and a sign on fee may be something of the past.

WE may see a whole new attitude in the summer from clubs and a lot of pissed off players.

The fact clubs still have high earners will restrict what they can pay anyone coming in.

Hobbs playing hard ball now may backfire on him.

You may be right but Konch IS at the end of his career having earned a fair amount of cash. Hobbs is still in the early years of his.

Konch wants to taste Prem one more time in his life.

How is that possible!!!! :dunno:

Ive been bantering with some all day by facebook. Havent seen it officially confirmed anywhere though

They have mentioned 1980 and Brian Clough a few times though....

I'm really confused.  When people thought he was coming here it was all "great backup for Moore, better than Was", but now he's going Forest he's bang average?

DONE DEAL Jack Hobbs to Nottingham Forest

The man with the 1920s name, in-demand Jack Hobbs, has completed a permanent move from Hull to Nottingham Forest for an undisclosed fee.

Firstly I don't think we will have made a bid for him as I don't think Pearson wanted him (he pretty much said as much in his interview after Birmingham) and secondly we don't need him. He will play every week at Forest whereas he would be a squad player for us. When Moore is fit, which is only 3 weeks off, then he and Morgan will be our regular cb partnership and Hobbs would battle it out with Was and Miquel for the back up role.

And if we get promoted he would be even further down the pecking order if we strengthen in the summer.

I certainly won't be losing sleep about him joining Forest!
