Jack Hobbs - Gone to Forest

How can people say he's not good enough to play for our first 11?

I think he's better than Moore.

Long term, we could have him and Moore as Morgan isn't getting any younger.

I'd be delighted if we signed him. Good player

spelling out the joke lessens the effect.

After he divorced Mills, there was an interview with Paul McCartney and he was asked if he'd 'ever go down on one knee again?'.

He replied:  "No. And I'd prefer it if you called her Heather."

Before they got divorced he bought her a plane for her birthday.

And a ladyshave for the other leg.

My source has informed me we have matched Wigan and Readings bid yet ours has not been accepted not really up to Jack where he goes then is it then Steve Bruce, Hull know he would pick Leicester why would he pick Wigan or Reading when he lives in Loughborough

According to SSN, Forest are signing 2 defenders before the deadline - Danny Fox, the Southampton left back (an excellent signing) and a central defender from Nice - so they won't be going for Hobbs.  Although he lives in Loughborough and has mainly played in the East Midlands & Lincolnshire/Humberside; he was born in Portsmouth (so a Reading move wouldn't be too far from his roots) and obviously was a Liverpool trainee (so Wigan would be a return to Lancashire).  I reckon he'll be going to one of those - and not us.  The fact that fees have been agreed with them (according to Steve Bruce) and not City, I think says it all.

Guys he wont be coming to us but Nige is looking for a CB before the transfer windows closes

Gomis (cb) has signed and now we're awaiting confirmation of Fox.

At what stage would you class them as a "trainee"? He was at Lincoln for six years until just before his 17th birthday. I only remember because I'm from Lincoln and him getting snapped up for Liverpool was up there with the Da Vinci Code being film in the Cathedral and Jeffrey Archer being on day release (from Open Prison) at the Theatre Royal for the local rag and radio station. It's a pretty happening place.

I hope there is not truth in this, Keane's inability to defend cost us last season big time.

And his inability to defend against us favoured us this season

Looking like Wigan according to this article. Excellent Championship defender - but I think we need to be setting our sights higher and I doubt we'll be offering a 2/3 year contract as he's not quite what we are looking for should we be promoted so I think he'll opt for stability elsewhere.

I cant help thinking that Keane may come back on a loan deal until the end of the season. Will be ok as cover.

Kinda hope not.

I like Miquel. He is quality and will prove to be a top Prem defender in the near future. If only it were with us and not the Arsenal! Buy him at the end of the season Nige. He is better than Hobbs already.

Did you see him play against Stoke? He was terrible.. Taller than Kenwyne Jones yet failed to win a single header against him (that I saw - including the 1st goal)

I think Hobbs is a very good player, but after Moore returns, I don't think Hobbs would see much starting football, and at 25 he won't want to be sitting on a bench because of an ex-youth player team mate taking his place.

I honestly don't think Pearson will bite and sign a new defender, if we were to get anyone it will be on a 1 - 3 month loan at most just as cover for potential injuries.

Yeah can i agree with that, he may just join for a month or something just simply to cover for Liam.

Miquel isn't better than Hobbs and I'm not convinced he'll be a top flight defender.

Keane had a decent attitude and struck me as the right type of character, but I really don't think he's that good.
