Dan Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 That must be one of those forums where they deliberately talk shit as a bit of an in-joke kind of thing. If not then I seriously despair. Total delusion.
sylofox Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 QPR and Forest trying to buy their way into the PL does not surprise me as much as teams like Bournemouth, Millwall and Huddersfield splashing the cash this season. Bournemouth signed that South Africa striker Rantie for £2.5 million and they got barely 7,000 at Dean Court on Tuesday night. They also managed to hold on to Grabban because they uppsed his wages to a level Brighton could not match. Brighton get 20,000-plus crowds every game to Bournemouth's 8,000 average. Elliott Ward and Ian Harte also signed on frees for the Cherries - they won't have gone there for peanuts. How does FFP work there? I am glad we seemed to have complied. But how can FFP work. FFP is where business meets sport the 2 don't go together. You could not tell the owners of Rolls Royce they can not invest in there business. So how can you stop a rich arrab. FFP will need a re think cos as it stands atm someone will go to court over it and win. They will probably have to put rules in that clubs can not borrow more than there income. But will not be able to stop owners spending there own money.
Stadt Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 But are we any better calling them 'tinpot nobodies'?

I think your owner can still effectively put £5mil into the club and Bournemouth have quite a rich backer. I'd assume Huddersfield do as well based on their ground. Millwall I can't answer for and I've not really seen any big spending from them. But are we any better calling them 'tinpot nobodies'? Yes as at least we're telling some form of truth
The Doctor Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 I love this "favoured by refs" shit that opposing fans come out with - watch the highlights and most of our penalties come through stupid lunges on Vardy. Reckless defending by the opposition is not being favoured by refs.
Kitchandro Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 But are we any better calling them 'tinpot nobodies'? Yes because they actually are tinpot nobodies. The stuff they're saying about us is just stupid and inaccurate. Besides, we wouldn't be saying it if they weren't still going on about us. As if they'd be on our radars otherwise.
Dan Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Funny how bitter people are. They see Leicester have had loads of penalties and automatically think the refs are favouring us. I mean it couldn't possibly be something to do with our tactics
purpleronnie Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Funny how bitter people are. They see Leicester have had loads of penalties and automatically think the refs are favouring us. I mean it couldn't possibly be something to do with our tactics Exactly, my brother in law is a forest fan and even he said its no surprise Leicester get so many penalties because we play attacking football, he also said we're the best side he's seen this season despite Forest beating us.
ealingfox Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Feel a bit bad for them reading that tbh, makes me grateful to be a Leicester fan. Although we're not the biggest, best or greatest, and the last decade has been more dire than Danny, Lloyd, Nathan, Bruce and Keiron stood together at a Mark Knopfler concert, at least we have things like League Cups, top 10 finishes and UEFA cup appearances to look back on, whereas Watford genuinely rank a last-gasp winner in a Play-Off SEMI-final as their greatest moment...
Corky Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Funny how bitter people are. They see Leicester have had loads of penalties and automatically think the refs are favouring us. I mean it couldn't possibly be something to do with our tactics This lot who say that contradict themselves when they go on to say what a shit, no-mark club we are. Why would refs favour a no-mark club? We win penalties because we attack at pace, we go for goal. Opposition keepers and defenders throw themselves into mistimed challenges and guess what, the ref gives a clear foul. How often do you see Schmeichel launching himself at strikers, or Morgan or Moore lunging in desperately? Yes, with so many you'll get a couple of generous decisions, but the last two have been identical. You'd think they'd research and learn but no.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 So it turns out very few Watford fans actually dislike us. Can we sort end that bandwagon now?

I think it was RedHux on here who said that the Nottingham Forest owners don't think FFP would hold up in court hence the spending and the wages they keep on giving.

Great stuff, the same owners who think Billy Davies is the man to throw ten million at and cancelled a players signing on the fact his eye test wasnt upto standard. RIP Forest.
MC Prussian Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 They're slowly smelling the coffee down in Watford following the 4-2 home defeat against Forest: Spineless. Passionless. No commitment. No one on that pitch gave a ****. There are so many things wrong with this team. The pozzos need to realise they can't just send anyone over and expect them to be good enough. This season has been a complete nightmare. http://www.wfcforums.com/showthread.php?50388-shocking And no more euphoria: Mid table?? You're dreaming, mate. We're going down. Got relegation written all over us. http://www.wfcforums.com/showthread.php?50383-Mid-table-obscurity Oh, how the mighty loanee system has fallen (insert appropriate Schadenfreude joke here).
lgfualol Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 I dreamt of the day this would happen. Put them right back in their place. I bet that ginger kid on the video when Wood scored is crying his eyes out.
Super_horns Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 Watford genuinely rank a last-gasp winner in a Play-Off SEMI-final as their greatest moment... They must be the kids under 10 who missed out on the play-off wins and semi finals plus relative success of the 80s.. It was an exciting moment - not sure any sane fan would call it the greatest moment. You are right though - they do look a bit stupid now hence which I why personally never try to give it the big one as it usually comes back to bite. Trouble is all these players looked good on youtube apparently..

I know you are leaking goals in recent games but also you seem to get into commanding positions, which is concerning.
Super_horns Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 We usually don't save for last season (league game anyway) Apart from Deeney we don't have any strikers to pose a real threat and actually our defence was quite solid before the last 2 games. I think most would take a draw! Way our squad is we could play about 10 midfielders! If in trouble throw Kevin Phillips on - he always scores against us!

Trouble is all these players looked good on youtube apparently.. I feel sorry for the genuine fans of Watford that were turning up before the promotion bandwagon. It seems to be the fair weather fans making the rest of you look like bellends. It's the same on here. Whilst I remained positive for most of last season and think Nige has done a great job here, some of the fans that post on here (along with a certain Scottish RL commentator) make me despair. You can see why other fans call us arrogant with some of the shite posted on here.
