Can't think of any centre back apart from those selected, maybe Stones but he's only been playing consistently for about 3 months.

Curtis Davies, Jon Stones, Stephen Caulker, Joleon Lescott...hell, i'd even look at Jason Shackell before him.

Who else would you pick? Stones has only been playing consistently well recently. Unfortunately, we're a bit shit at CB at the minute.

I suppose the only other option would of been Curtis Davies.

The way i see it, if both Smalling and Davies had the same performances but Smalling played for Hull and Davies played for Man Utd then we would be seeing Davies on the plane and not Smalling.

Lets just hope if he gets on the pitch he puts in some good performances to warrant his selection

Grandad was right, you really do not have a clue.

Because I think Smalling is dogshit? Alright mate lol

The right midfielder will be Milner. Don't get why other people are predicting anything different. He's an automatic choice because Roy is defensive and boring. The attackers list, apart from Rooney, is depressing. As is the defenders list. I still would have taken Cole who remains better defensively than Baines and Shaw. And I would have taken Carrick, I know he's had a poor season but he holds the ball well and knows how to find a player with a pass.

You don't think Sturridge, who's scored 21 goals for Liverpool, has been better than Rooney this season?

You've seriously just suggested Jason Shackell, i think that alone proves it.

For me its Rooney that makes it depressing.

Sturridge

Sterling

Lallana

Barkley

I think these make it a very exciting attacking line up

Welbeck has been poor this season for Man U yet he's still going to the world cup?! I think Andy Carroll is a better bet, may not have played as many games but this season i think he's been slightly better!

I take my Cole comments back - that seems a pretty dignified response to be fair to him.

Nope, it's Cole so you have to insult him remember.

This season, yeah. Sorry, I missed Sturridge.

It is. But you have to realise he won't play that. Enter Milner.

Liverpool will sign Will Hughes and then you lot can see a better side of him, saying that he's never going to be liked is he?

A better side of him? Pah, he's living off one bullshit paper rumour, he's the 4th best midfielder Derby have. Painfully average.

Smalling, Wilshere, Johnson and Welbeck?

Jesus. Wouldn't have been in the 'C' squad ten years ago.

And who would you take instead? We don't have better.

Also, we had some shocking players back then, don't go acting like 'back in the day' we were incredible. Didn't TREVOR SINCLAIR, DANNY MILLS, DARIUS VASSELL and WES BROWN go to the 2002 WC?

To be fair Milner has had a decent season but i would rather he be a bench warmer for his versatility. But i do agree with you Hodgson will most likely start him

Lets be honest we all know the team will be built around superstar talisman Rooney even though in our likely formation (4-2-3-1) there's not a single position he's current the most in-form player.

I definitely agree with whoever said that if Smalling was at Hull and Davies was at Man Utd then Davies would go.

It should all hopefully be academic if Jagielka and Cahill stay fit, neither of them should be playing in a World Cup for England, although that  could be said about a lot of them.
