oxford blue Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 It's not big or clever. I'm glad they got banned.I agree. Flares can be dangerous and both smoke bombs and flares obscure the view for fans who want to watch the action on the pitch. Releasing either is very selfish - that's my opinion. A poll would be interesting as there does seem to be quite divided views
Father Ted Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 Fireworks.. Oh for ****s sake! And these people are meant to be taken seriously as journalists? THIS IS A FIREWORK: THIS IS A FLARE: THIS IS A SMOKE BOMB: NOT HARD IS IT!
Bayfox Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 Ash mate the fact he was daft enough to brag on Twitter is worth a ban on it's own. Mug. Retweets can end up all over the shop. But for the record. Family stand is having a party. Bring your pryos and your smarties.

I won't be in N tomorrow I'm in a box will be interesting to see how stewards are.

Monsell1976 Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 I do agree with you mate was a very silly thing to do! I won't be in N tomorrow I'm in a box will be interesting to see how stewards are. They are young kids that made a mistake, they have been banned for the season, not worth a slot in the newspaper, and I would put money on that the stewards will be over the top tommorow, and take it out on the majority in there that have helped to improve the atmosphere in the kp, without setting off a smoke bomb. The way the club and mercury are reacting over this is way out of proportion, **** me send somebody from the club and paper down to somewhere like millwall for a season, and maybe they will realise the is an minor isolated incident by a couple of kids, and stop making something out of nothing.
Stadt Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 I'd like to send that "journalist" to a Galatasaray game

No they are wankers who scared the shit out of some young kids who had no idea wtf was going on when a smoke bomb landed at their feet. As for over zealous stewarding wtf do you expect when you light shit like that in a family stand.

LCCFox96 Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 I'd like to send that "journalist" to a Galatasaray game He might crap himself with scale of their pyrotechnics. A lengthy ban is harsh for a flare set off in presumably good intentions to liven things. At the end of the day it's the affect the smoke can have which is dangerous so I see both sides of the argument. The family stand was definitely the wrong end of the ground to do it in too. Think the ban could be slightly smaller though.

You ever thought the reason it made the paper is so people get the message. So some other silly tw@ don't take them to another game.
promised land Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Really stupid in the family stand. Really stupid anywhere not just the family stand. Flares are used out at sea when in distress, not on land in a crowded environment.
Marmite Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 They look good but lets be honest they are dangerous. I was not far off being hit by the one threw by Sheffield Wednesday last season in L1. Occasionally I sit in the family stand with my 5 year old as I take him to the odd match, I would be right peed off if someone let one of them off in front of me and he was inhaling all that smoke. Some people are just brain dead, why would you set one off in a family stand with loads of young children around you?
MooseBreath Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 They look crap. Just take a really bright coloured torch and wave it around. Same effect as a flare. For the tiny sea of colour created by smoke bombs, try a flag. Same effect, less of the chavvy little gutter rat about it.

MooseBreath Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Flags are against the rules as well Really? Blimey, that's a bit sad. I had wondered why you dont see them so much anymore
AndWhat? Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Really? Blimey, that's a bit sad. I had wondered why you dont see them so much anymore Yep, a lad had a flag confiscated off him in SK1 during the Middlesbrough game. If the club can't even trust us with pissing flags it's no wonder young lads are going to the extreme of letting of smoke bombs.

AndWhat? Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 That makes no sense at all. I know it was probably a long time time since you were a young'un, so it probably doesn't to you.
Unabomber Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 I know it was probably a long time time since you were a young'un, so it probably doesn't to you. No, the sentence literally doesn't make sense.
AndWhat? Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 No, the sentence literally doesn't make sense. Sorry, I'm on my phone. I missed an 's' off the end of extremes and an 'f' off the last of.
Monsell1976 Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 No they are wankers who scared the shit out of some young kids who had no idea wtf was going on when a smoke bomb landed at their feet. As for over zealous stewarding wtf do you expect when you light shit like that in a family stand. The smoke bomb was put on the stair next to them, it was the steward who panicked and threw it down the stairs, and then another steward put it out on the front of the stand, so no the kids in question did not throw it, but yes if they hadn't have lit it, the steward wouldn't have had to throw it, but in the same breath should the steward have thrown it.They were kids that acted irresponsible and have been punished, but over the top putting it the paper. I stated the stewards will go over the top today, and you say what do I expect, I expect them to treat the rest fairly as 3 people were responsible not the whole of n1.
Monsell1976 Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 You ever thought the reason it made the paper is so people get the message. So some other silly tw@ don't take them to another game. It's a smoke bomb once, is the vile racist, homophobic chants and abuse which I have heard from fans down the city on numerous occasions more news worthy, and more concerning as a parent, as this seems to go unreported and appears acceptable. But that's ok theirs no smoke involved, but the kids are learning some good language. But your right they have sent a message out, that something that has only happened once by a home fan has been punished, well done lcfc. My point is that these are kids that ****ed up, but are being made out to be horrible scumbags, and major criminals
