MATLCFC Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 And here is the biggest threat to this being a success. As I've said previously, the club will try and crush any other standing area which looks like developing away from L/K. If people moving into SK1 for this are expecting that they should be allowed to stand in there then they will be in for a shock, be that immediately on Saturday or further down the line as this grows and the club realise they need to intervene to prevent another L/K I can see where you are coming from and I think everyone would want to avoid a 'them and us' scenario with the club. However, if enough people are in one area they have pretty much no chance of kicking out say 100+ people in reality. FS have actively engaged with the club and have been completely transparent from day 1 about the proposed plans. Also, from the club's perspective, surely this would be welcomed rather than say building on N block next to the away fans for example. I think as long as there are decent numbers and no does anything stupid like throw a military grade flare on to the pitch, all will be well, here’s hoping anyway

The club responded as filbo spirit stated, If they were not happy with the idea it would of been a straight "NO" months ago.. I think they will be fine with it... The stewards will probably get on their high horses... but just need to make sure nobody aggravates them.. as soon as one fan needs to be kicked out due to abusive language or violence towards stewards.. we are all Fcuked
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 Just finished the last of my confetti, 13 bags, 15 sheets per bag, 32 pieces per sheet, I make that 6240 individual pieces ready to be unleashed . I'm on row NN, I'll hand it out to the guys on NN-29-17 so hopefully it falls nice and evenly across the yellow section! Can't wait now!
Dan Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 I wouldn't be shocked if we're in for a bit of a different attitude from stewards this weekend. They're generally fine but I worry that LCFC will be over this.

I wouldn't be shocked if we're in for a bit of a different attitude from stewards this weekend. They're generally fine but I worry that LCFC will be over this. My main worry too, However as I said they got a full report of the plans, if it was a no go, surely they would have just said No?

AndWhat? Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 You sir, Are a Gem. My main worry too, However as I said they got a full report of the plans, if it was a no go, surely they would have just said No? I don't think it would have been that simple. 'Hi, can we organise a singing section in the kop to help boost the atmosphere' 'No' Would have been a PR disaster.

'Hi, can we organise a singing section in the kop to help boost the atmosphere' 'No' Would have been a PR disaster. Think I was exaggerating the blunt nature of the reply! But there would have been some sort of letter outlayed as to why it is not acceptable I.e Health and safety, other fans, blah blah blah...
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 That's the reality! Just to add to that.. The club responded as filbo spirit stated, If they were not happy with the idea it would of been a straight "NO" months ago.. I think they will be fine with it... The stewards will probably get on their high horses... but just need to make sure nobody aggravates them.. as soon as one fan needs to be kicked out due to abusive language or violence towards stewards.. we are all Fcuked From the club's perspective it's better to agree to it and 'manage' it than disagree to it and fans try and do it regardless. I'm all for there being a better atmosphere at the stadium but I just think that the club is so clearly anti-standing that they'll not want another standing en masse area developing. L1 is beyond the club's control now. It's just so established and there are so many people that they can't really do anything other than try and cut down on it spreading to areas such as K and beyond. Why else would L be season ticket only?! The club is clearly trying to make it as manageable and monitor-able as possible. With N Block what has effectively happened is that people have found a loophole. The club realise they can't do anything too much about it now but the statement they put out regarding The Family Stand a couple of months ago was clearly a pre-cursor to changes that are likely to come at the end of the season. I wouldn't be surprised to see a new policy restricting who can go in there next season. With SK1 if the club think it's going to be the beginning of a new standing area they'll do everything they can to disrupt it and stop it developing. I'm sure Saturday will very much be leave-it-and-see from the club but stewards will have been briefed that this isn't to become the next L/N. If people ignore that then they'll likely start with the ejections/bans/searches to put an end to it.
Stadt Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 I think the club definitely want to limit the size of standing fans, the ticket prices past K are some of the most expensive although they are on the halfway line but I think if the club didn't have any issues with standing the prices there wouldn't be so high.

The number of times people have tried to start something such as this is crazy, there is clearly a real desire by so many fans to create a decent atmosphere at the KP, I've never seen another fans forum discuss the subject of atmosphere as much as we do. L/K will never grow due to the big ticket prices for sitting on the halfway line...the club know this and are happy with it. Derby on the other hand have a whole dedicated singing section which was created by request of the fans... I pick and choose my games because I simply refuse to pay £30 a ticket to sit in a soulless bowl for 90 minutes. If the club isn't willing to help improve things or deter the fans from trying, I like many others will stay away. Will the club care when we are playing Premier League football and getting 30,000 + every week anyway? Perhaps not, but hey that's my little stand against things as they are currently
C-man Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 It's definitely worth noting that plenty of fans are buying tickets specifically for this game because of the promise of atmosphere. Hopefully the club will see it as evidence that atmosphere equals ticket sales. Surely that makes it worthwhile for the club?
Bert Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 For the people that don't know. The club monitor this board. So just be careful of what's being said.

yorkie1999 Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 I was just talking to a guy who used to be a steward and he thinks the club would probably encourage this because of the fact its about supporting the club and not goading the away fans, he also reckons the stewards will be told to keep an eye on people but let the fans get on with it because of the numbers involved.
C-man Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 For the people that don't know. The club monitor this board. So just be careful of what's being said. To be fair I think everything that's been said has been pretty common sense. I wish the club were reading it

Hopefully the club will see it as evidence that atmosphere equals ticket sales. Surely that makes it worthwhile for the club? Exactly this, the club need to open their eyes to the fact that we aren't trying to start a new baby squad, we just want to help improve the atmosphere. Not only doesn't help the players, it makes the game more lively and ejoyable as a fan too. If the SK1 idea does catch on, all it takes is something as simple as a couple of complimentary remarks from Stringer about "how loud the KOP is" and it will catch on and people will want to be apart of it - the same way only a few fans started out at Palace... And Bert - I hope the club do monitor this board because maybe they can see why fans such as myself can't justify turning up every week...the end result being them missing out on much needed revenue. Either way, I'm looking forward to what should be a thoroughly enjoyable day :scarf:

I don't agree with him. What about the Fosse Boys? I'd love him to be right - that's exactly what the section's about.
Stadt Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 Tbh I wish somebody that was observant and actually had some degree of power read ft because maybe they would improve something's for the fans.
yorkie1999 Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 I don't agree with him. What about the Fosse Boys? I'd love him to be right - that's exactly what the section's about. I asked him that and he reckoned because there weren't enough of them they were more of an annoyance and were putting people off going in that corner, its about bums on seats at the end of the day. His words not mine.
Soup Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 I really belive a loud and buzzing KP could help the team win a few more points each season, where as a soulless one could loss us a few.And that difference in the premier league could means 10's of millions to the owners.I can't see on any level why anyone at LCFC would encourage silence.
cityfanlee23 Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 To be fair I think everything that's been said has been pretty common sense. I wish the club were reading it This a million times... We've been open with them and have openly stated that we do NOT intend to cause trouble, and will not be causing trouble on the day. Nor in the future. We just want an atmosphere and we would prefer to work with the club!
glen parva fox Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 It's still simple if the club would actually recognise the atmosphere is s... Just compare to the trees the other Wednesday, all sides sing which creates a hostile atmosphere, for visiting teams/supporters. Best way I see it is move family stand to the west stand lower, still have access to the megastore. Make the old family stand a singing only stand, will then get the KP rocking. Any thoughts?
Kitchandro Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 I asked him that and he reckoned because there weren't enough of them they were more of an annoyance and were putting people off going in that corner, its about bums on seats at the end of the day.
