yorkie1999 Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 In other words they hate singing sections and they'll stamp out little ones if they can, but haven't got the power/balls to mess with a big section. i don't think they hate singing sections.
steveherbe Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 Turn around and say hello Sol, I am in PP 34! Sols mates are in 33 and 32, say hello to us as well!
harpendenfox Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 I think it's fair to say Galatasaray fans know how to make an atmosphere. There must be a Turkish community in Leicester we can integrate into the East stand........

I get the feeling you only come on this thread to challenge everyone as to why it will not work, Come and join us!
Union FS Posted 26 February 2014 Author Posted 26 February 2014 Sent to our members and posted here: http://filbospirit.wordpress.com/2014/02/26/update-sk1-vs-charlton-h-1-march-2014/ With the Charlton game fast approaching we thought we’d take the opportunity to give you a quick update on how plans are coming along. Firstly, numbers. Thanks to those of you who have been in touch with us to confirm your participation on Saturday. As far as our records show there will be at least 80 of us present on the day. We are hopeful that more will join us before the weekend and some may even migrate over on the day. The pre-match plan is for an 11.30am start in the Kings Head, just off New Walk. For those who need directions, please follow the link: http://www.thekingsleicester.co.uk/findus.html. We will most likely head on to the Swan & Rushes en route to the ground, where we aim to take up our seats for 2.30pm. A couple of things to remember: - We all want this to work long-term and, as such, it is important that we maintain a healthy relationship with the club and match day stewards. Union FS do not want the group to suffer based on the behaviour of its individual members or non-members. Needless to say, enthusiasm is required to make this work, but please remain respectful at all times towards stewards as any negativity in this regard is detrimental and likely to be used against us in the future. - Bring your singing voices!! Any queries then please drop us a line at this email address or refer to the Minutes from our first meeting for further information: http://filbospirit.wordpress.com/2014/01/02/minutes-from-our-first-meeting/ Look forward to meeting you all on Saturday, Union FS

steveherbe Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 Street cred just plummeted. Mates, I meant mates. Bloody predictive text, I'll ask someone at school tomorrow how to turn it off - innit bruv.
KIRBYFOX93 Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 If the atmosphere was stuning i wouldnt care if we lost every week to be honest
Kitchandro Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 I get the feeling you only come on this thread to challenge everyone as to why it will not work, Come and join us! Not at all. I've already booked tickets in SK1 and I hope it's a success. I've raised merely one concern about the positioning of the said singing section. I did ask the question about other home games and how they would differ from a 'trial match' because I genuinely didn't understand fully. It's naive to think the club are going to be in full support of this, which is why I have suggested that the group should not try to involve the club. If it is to be a success we will not need any of their help anyway. This can work but it needs to catch fire pretty quickly. There were several reasons for the Fosse Boys' failure but the bottom line of all of it was it didn't grow fast enough and as a result it never looked attractive to prospective standers/singers around the ground.
A fox for life Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 Gutted I can't be there for this! is the next game planned yet?

Mike the Metal Ed Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 I asked him that and he reckoned because there weren't enough of them they were more of an annoyance and were putting people off going in that corner, its about bums on seats at the end of the day. His words not mine. Not that I want to re-open closed chapters, but if that was the case they probably shouldn't have started checking tickets seven home games into the season, preventing anyone who was curious from joining us before committing to moving their tickets. Expansion was pretty much impossible after that.
Soup Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Gutted I can't be there for this! is the next game planned yet? Sheff Weds.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 It's still simple if the club would actually recognise the atmosphere is s... Just compare to the trees the other Wednesday, all sides sing which creates a hostile atmosphere, for visiting teams/supporters. Best way I see it is move family stand to the west stand lower, still have access to the megastore. Make the old family stand a singing only stand, will then get the KP rocking. Any thoughts? As much as that's what us the fans may want, it's exactly what the club won't want!

BrummieFOX Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 FYI - the group was brought up at the FCC Meeting last night. Although there wasn't too much said on the matter, the club are aware of the plans and what's happening on Saturday. I imagine it will be closely monitored but the view didn't seem negative. I'm sure Union FS are aware, but Jim said he and Barclay will be meeting with them in due course.

Mike the Metal Ed Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 You coming to the pub before the game? Are you coming Mike? Yeah, I'll try to get to the pub before too, but I'll be a fair bit later than most.
Dan Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 I asked him that and he reckoned because there weren't enough of them they were more of an annoyance and were putting people off going in that corner, its about bums on seats at the end of the day. His words not mine. But to be fair, I think the ones currently in SK1 aren't any different in that regard as there isn't too many of them. We aren't singing as many new songs as they did though. In other words they hate singing sections and they'll stamp out little ones if they can, but haven't got the power/balls to mess with a big section. That isn't true though. Like I say, there's a similar number of us to the Fosse Boys and they've generally been fine with us.
Dan Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 I think it's fair to say Galatasaray fans know how to make an atmosphere. There must be a Turkish community in Leicester we can integrate into the East stand........ They're as passionate as any fanbase I can name, but sod have any association with a fanbase like that.
Kitchandro Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Fair enough then mate, I apologise! looking forward to seeing you up there! what seats?? No probs. Row PP I think, can't remember exactly which seats. You coming to the pub before the game? I'm getting a lift so will have to see what time I can get there.

Don't fancy pyros and flares x1000 then? No probs. Row PP I think, can't remember exactly which seats. I'm getting a lift so will have to see what time I can get there. Top man, Excited? As another poster said, Feels like an away game, but at home!
