Charlton (H) - SK1

To look cool I imagine. I'm far more embarrassed by 28,000 silent home fans against Ipswich in the second half than I am by any attempts to improve things.

Man City was an absolute joke from our lot. Thankfully it's been better since then but Ipswich was poor.

Said it time and time again but the ground layout is awful for atmosphere. It's always going to lead to disagreements from fans - even those who desire the same thing.

I saw a few on Twitter - "SK1 is nowhere near the away fans"

Please no anti-L1 songs. Now that would be embarrassing.

Disappointed by some of the reaction I've seen on Twitter so far (word's getting around). A few seem almost embarrassed by it?

That was a bit tongue-in-cheek to be fair. Never slag our own fans.

I'm not even surprised, sadly.

Happens every single time.

Only way to win people over is results. I'd assume Palace's group had it at first and now they pretty much conduct their whole support from a vocal point of view.

The important thing is to just ignore the ones talking shit for the sake of looking cool (am I wrong in suggesting that they're doing that?) and keep at it. I can see there being plenty on their high horses in L1 saying how it was so much better telling 600 Charlton fans they ran from the Millwall and at the same time I can see plenty doing the same back. It's like the divide is being created and it hasn't even happened yet.

It's a shame we as a fanbase don't seem to ever agree on one way. It's pockets of people doing different things all the time and it's a sickener really, because we could be unreal if we lived up to our potential as a fanbase.

Really hope this takes off. Good luck to everyone going over there. Too much sinicism these day. Only takes 100 or so hard core fans to get a whole end joining in. Remember when L1 started up (you know before the bloody drum) people got chucked out all the time for standing. It was the 200 or so kept it going. We need to be prepared for the premiership. Over 2000 away fans every week. We are blue, we are white, we are fcuking dynamite da da da da da da da da da! Rave from the grave.

Not worth taking notice of the negativity to be honest. They are massively in the minority - those apathetic are more of a concern because at the end of the day, they are the ones that will truly make a difference to the atmosphere all around the ground.

I'm sure Saturday will be a success and the block will grow in time for the next trial game but there will be things to work on and issues to iron out.

Any anti-L1 posts, tweets or songs are not going to be helpful. SK1 will need L1's support.

Got to love our fanbase. Someone tries to do something positive and people slag it off. L1 can do their thing, whatever that is, If these lads want to set up camp in SK1 and support our team, great.

I hope it works and isn't a let down and I hope it lasts more than just the one game. Would be a shame if it was great for one game then nobody comes back, week after week.

As a seaso in SK1 i'm looking forward to seeing what happens, normally in the Kings at 12.30, you lot best leave room at the bar. Taking over our pubs lol

On a side note IF this is gonna be a regular thing and takes off, I'm Going to email Jim and find out if for next season we can print some banners up to cover the white metal claddings at the back of SK1 and maybe SK2 etc, if anyone on here has a sig or something they would like doing such as the allez blues knocky one etc.

Feel free to PM me and I'll try to put it to the club. I am happy to print them on my companys time if the club allow.

We already have a very good (at times) away support and I totally agree with you buddy that our home support could be much much better also

Really hope this idea takes off

I sit in SK1 the only problem at the min is that the few that sing make it worse as there are only about 10-15 people that sing regularly.

So it just sounds dreadful.

With more people joining in it should sound better

Doesnt help that new songs come out the woodwork each week that no body knows apart from about the 5 people that made them up.

The bloke in front of me against ipswich turned round and said to us he's moving his season ticket if those dickheads dont shut up lol

Tell him to try an away day then maybe he'd know the new songs, new songs always tend to get an airing away, as they are easier to get going.

Just warming up... "We're so loud its unbelievable", "Shit fans L1, L1 shit fans", "The kop is back, the kop is back, hello, hello", "We're the best side, we're the best side, we're the best side over here". Some potential there I think, I especially like the first one.

lol I like the "shit fans l1" made me chuckle!

Let's hope we can hear you

Bits on bold both speak volumes (no pun intended)

I agree about some of the new songs I've got to admit.

Doubt it. I can hardly hear L1. The acoustics are shit.

Some of the new songs are quite good and sometimes funny just needs more people to join in I guess.

Certainly are. It's a real shame because no matter how loud the Kop is it won't sound that loud to the away fans. You'll never really get a cauldron of an atmosphere at our ground.

Anyway, I hope this works out and we can at least make some noise at that end of the ground.

People always say that, but whenever we used to sing 'Nigel give us a wave' in L1, I always used to be shocked how early he did it.

I swear someone said once that it was designed so the sound travels onto the pitch?

Heard that too.

It is strange how the players and Pearson can how the fans but the other parts of the ground any hear each other.
