The Guvnor Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Good team and Sean Dyche seems a top manager.
Unabomber Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 I will take them seriously when I get the impression that Sean Dyche has stopped eating gravel.
Brainy Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 I looked through their squad on BBC Sport and they only have four strikers? Ings, Vokes, Barnes and some guy i've never heard of. You'd think if one of the first two get injured they'd be screwed?
Kitchandro Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 I don't think I've ever not taken them seriously. I don't doubt they have been one of the better performers in the league this season. I also don't doubt that we're the best team in the division, and therefore, better than Burnley.
Jon25747 Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 They already are dropping off the title pace they, us and QPR set at the start of the season. The reason they look like they aren't is because QPR have dropped off in form also We have kept up the same pace, and Derby and Forest have now joined us. Hence why we have moved ahead of Burnley, and Forest and Derby have closed up to them so much. Whilst clearly you can't discount them or QPR entirely as form can change quickly (I actually hope Burnley go up with us), they need to find early season form again or they might start being over taken. If their last 16 games is similar to their early form they will get around 95 points. If its like their latter form they will get around 85 meaning we need between 20 - 29 points from 16 games. We should be ok but if they hit form again, we will be pushed to the wire.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 I thought they would drop off but they have proved they are serious contenders. After selling Austin I thought they would struggle, they play good football and Vokes and Ings are arguably the best in the league. I much prefer them to QPR who have spent loads and still suck
Munshi Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 They are a good side, but I still don't think they have what it takes, just hoping that Ings takes a knock as that would really knock the stuffing out of em.
FoxG2 Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Ings and Volts, 40 goals between them this season is the main reason for Burnley's success, best strike partnership in the league by a mile.
Tom's Pasta Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 I'd say they're not all that different from ourselves. Honest, hard-working group who are winning hard fought games. Whereas you have QPR who have a load of Premier League rejects who are happy to be earning a wage but are probably more naturally gifted players.
weller54 Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Ings and Volts, 40 goals between them this season is the main reason for Burnley's success, best strike partnership in the league by a mile. Volts??!!... That's shocking!!!!!!!
Guest Col city fan Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Volts??!!... That's shocking!!!!!!! He's got electric pace though.. Sometimes used to 'plug' the gap between midfield and attack..
rico Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Volts??!!... That's shocking!!!!!!! Watt you say mate?
C-man Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 From what I've seen of them they get a huge amount of crosses into the box and as such will always be dangerous given the relative defensive ability of most Championship teams. Definitely should be respected. Hope they come up with us.
Mark_from_USA Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Ings and Volts, 40 goals between them this season is the main reason for Burnley's success, best strike partnership in the league by a mile. You mean the best spike partnership? In current form, I'd agree.
Guest Col city fan Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 You mean the best spike partnership? In current form, I'd agree. Clever... They certainly know how to socket to the opposition...
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 They have become a very difficult side to beat, hence only 3 defeats in 30, they will push us right to the end I reckon. Be happy to have them come up with us, if not Derby then QPR and Forest least of all.
sylofox Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Clever... They certainly know how to socket to the opposition... They are in spark ling form.
iamafox Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 We'll have to take Burnley even more seriously when we play them on March 29th.
J.Lisemore Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Didn't think much of Ings and thought he was just having a purple patch, but he's proving to be a consistent goalscorer, fair play. Comes across as a level-headed bloke also.
nativefox Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Volts??!!... That's shocking!!!!!!! On 'current' form the best in the league though! That'll teach me to read the whole thread before posting
xHamzah Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 If I'm not mistaken do they play high pressing football (similar to the Southamptons)?
Jace Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 I'm only focusing on us I don't take any interest in what Barnsley are doing.
weller54 Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 He's got electric pace though.. Sometimes used to 'plug' the gap between midfield and attack..
