J.Lisemore Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 Okay, obviously we all know who this guy is and how awful he was, so for the people unfortunate enough to have not seen him in action.... here he is. Sorry about the overlapping commentary. THAT celebration. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0KEMqzDF8U
Captain... Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 Why? Why would you post that? I've tried my hardest to suppress those memories over the years...
Kitchandro Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 Cracking video. The Frank Sinclair own goals one is pretty good too. I remember playing football at primary school and whenever anyone missed a good chance other kids would chant 'Ade Akinbiyi, Ade Akinbiyi'. Seldom have players made such a name for themselves just for being shit.
General Smuts Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 Worst thing about that video is seeing that little **** W*se in a City shirt.
Captain... Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 Worst thing about that video is seeing that little **** W*se in a City shirt. Was just about to say the same thing.
Soup Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 The guy is being interviewed on Talksport on Wednesday at 11am.
fleckneymike Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 From Emile Heskey and Stan Collymore, to Ade Akinbiyi and Trevor Benjamin in less than 12 months.
bovril Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 Yeah well done for posting that. I was at that game with a Liverpool 'supporting' friend from school who had never seen his team play before. It was just awful, compounded by that prat Fowler getting a hat-trick.
bovril Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 From Emile Heskey and Stan Collymore, to Ade Akinbiyi and Trevor Benjamin in less than 12 months. Dear God, when you put it like that. I vaguely remember Ade and Trev running through on goal at Maine Road and, between then, somehow contriving to miss the easiest chance of all time. But we didn't care, we were 2nd in the league, with our heads firmly buried in the sand....
Mickey O'Neil Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 Worst thing about that video is seeing that little **** W*se in a City shirt. Was just about to say the same thing. And me. I'd still rather have 11 Adi Akinbiyi's in my team than half a poisoned dwarf. Little cvnt.
kingfox Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 I wonder how many fans thought "Fookin hell, not again" when he miss kicked it first.
chili_con_carne Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 How on earth did we get back 2.2 million from palace for him
Lcfcman2010 Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 Still nearly missed that goal too. What a freak he was!
Vlad the Fox Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 I had a great chant for him. Shame he was never good enough for me to try and get it going.

Guest Bilo Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 I love how it's been made suitable for a Russian audience by telling the commentator to simply shout over the original English commentary!
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 Worst thing about that video is seeing that little **** W*se in a City shirt. And his short corners

Foxhateram Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 Childhood memories of sitting in the car with the radio on while parents went shopping, people must have thought I was very strange the way I used to shout at the radio every time in heard this blokes name. The amount of times I heard " Akinbiyi in on goal, 6 yards out! He's put it over the bar, well this poor run of form is astonishing" Just terrible memories and how we went from a great position in the league to relegation under Tayler and then Bassett. Oh dear oh dear. All after that game against Wycombe Wanderers. Talk about plummeting. Still refuse to go shopping at that Tesco where I listened to that season ever again!
Iwan is a Welshman Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 That game against Wycombe was the most sudden end to an era I've known in football. From memory there was no steady decline - we were great for over five years - lost that game, and then went shit over night. Did we even win another game that season? For years O'Neill made shoe string signings and performed miracles. Turned down Everton and Leeds. Then we get the ground, the cash, and just that one club too far came in. Imagine if he'd have stuck around for a couple more years. Although, saying that, every Villa fan I've spoken to really resents how Martin spent most of the money he had there, so perhaps it might not have changed a great deal.

I remember straight after that roy essandoh goal ade had a one on one which he obviously fluffed but i wonder what would have happened if he would have miraculously bagged....
ElusiveEd Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 Seeing Andy Impey reminded me of how fast he was. So, 100m sprint, 1 on 1, Impey or Dyer?
6ups 6downs 2 cups Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 I blame tim Berners lee, if he hadnt invented the Internet , Wycombe would never have been able to sign Roy Essendoh!
