Nalis Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 I've been a fan since the mid-late 90s but I honesty think enjoyed this season the most, particularly considering all the lows of last decade or so (premier league relegation, Cardiff PO loss Watford PO loss and of course, championship relegation) and the emphatic nature of our of title/promotion charge this season. I guess as I supported Leicester when in the premier league, etc, I didn't really appreciate the lows that came before it... But for you, is this season the most satisfying? If not, what would be?
Dan Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 Everything that can possibly fall into place is doing so. Absolutely excellent season which I never saw coming.
leicesterisme Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 It definitely is for me, under Sven's 2nd season I kind of fell out of love with it all, I still had a season ticket and went to a few aways but it wasn't something I really looked forward to all week. I've got that buzz back now though, the next game for me can't come soon enough.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 I think our summer of worrying really contributed to how amazing this season has been.
ithuriel Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 No, the first season back in the Prem under O'Neill, staying up when no one gave us much of a chance, winning the League cup and a brilliant run in the FA cup plus finishing in the top ten with some ease. This is probably the best season for a lot of youngsters though, having not seen Leicester in the top flight for ten years and with all the dross seen inbetween.
morris1234 Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 I think it's been more important for those fans who we do often think are waiting in the wings to cuss and moan and ask for change. It shows how patience can help bring good times and build stability that is not seen in those teams who have tried to rush (the likes of Cardiff, qpr etc) Whatever the result this season, these are the times we need to remember (and how we got here) when things aren't going too good. Be patient and let managers/players do their job and it'll come good.
bovril Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 Yeah 96/97 and 99/00 were thoroughly enjoyable. The cup runs obvsiously contributed. I also really enjoyed 2009/10 as we finally had a battling team that could challenge for the playoffs after years of dross. 08/09 was quite fun but you could never shake that feeling that it was, you know... division 3. This one has been great and slightly odd in a way. I've never seen a City side so dominate a division over a season.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 absolutely yes. love wearing the shirt around london with pride, even if most of the chavs think I'm chelsea
Beliall Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 Everything that can possibly fall into place is doing so. Absolutely excellent season which I never saw coming. i think thats what makes it most enjoyable. no-one saw it coming
peterborofox Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 So far probably my best but its not over yet! But in terms of away games its been mint for me seen six or seven away wins last season I went to 21 aways in total and saw four wins!
cc_star Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 I've been nervous as hell for most of it, so haven't really enjoyed it as much as the league table suggests I should, but this has eased over past couple of weeks after QPR & Forest have fell off a cliff & Derby have been erratic. It's been an amazing season. The best I've known at this level (which is most of my time since supporting the club). Pearson - his signings, his ability to weed out the mentally weak despite some individual talent, his methods, his tactics, his mental strength that he instills in his team to never give upetc & etc has been a revelation after a decade of shite (Pearson's 1st tenureship apart) . And it's now my nervousness is turning into proper enjoyment, appreciation & in turn, satisfaction. The most satisfying thing is it feels like we've got our club back after the circus of the previous management buying any player, for any amount, that any agent shoved under his nose no matter how ill suited to the cause they were.
LJS Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 96/7 was great but we didn't finish in the top ten with ease. We were 16th with two to go, only secured survival in the penultimate game, and sneaked into the top two (we hardly broke in all season) by beating Blackburn on the final day. It is a good shout for my favourite season though. I remember thinking we'd go down when Patrick Berger's Liverpool gave us a lesson at Filbert Street early on. But then we beat teams like Leeds, Spurs and Newcastle within a few weeks of each other and that gave me great faith. And of course we won the League Cup. 99/00 was brilliant too. Another cup win, that win against Sunderland, winning at Anfield. They're probably my top two. This one comes next though. The football has been great to watch and we're far superior to anything else in this league. Having a lot of Englishmen in the team gives it a nice homegrown feel as well. I'm more excited going to games than I have been at any point since the late 90s.
nlukka Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 I started supporting City around the mid-to-late 90's as well and probably didn't realise how good the O'Neill years were until we were served up the Rob Kelly & Craig Levein years in contrast. So far, this season as a whole has been the most satisfying; for the football we're playing, our consistency, team spirit and the future potential of the squad. There are individual moments as a City fan that rank higher, but as an overall season this has been my most enjoyable.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 No. It's very good, but my memories go back 54 years.

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 For me even tho I've not been to a game this season it's the best in my life time. Being a city fan where people don't know who we are but being able to almost brag to my half knowledgeable football supporting mates has been great. A highlight was being at my best mates during a lads party and me rocking up and putting the city Watford game on TV. They all laughed wandering why I had put on amatuer football until they saw the knocky and dyer show that day......Bloody brilliant! Very proud to be a city supporter this season and well worth the sleepless nights watching the lads play knowing you will get 100% effort
Bert Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 League one for me. Until this season is complete. One thing you can say about us as a club, we are very good at bouncing back from adversity.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 League one for me. Until this season is complete. One thing you can say about us as a club, we are very good at bouncing back from adversity. No doubt I will get shot down for this but being relegated from the championship on that fateful day was almost the best thing that could of happened to us. We were a side treading water for years. We got relegated to league 1 and like a Phoenix from the ashes we came back stronger and better than ever. Dominated league 1 and playoffs first year back.
DennisNedry Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 The only season that comes close to this for me was the promotion under Micky Adams, but that season we were 2nd.
LJS Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 League one for me. Until this season is complete. One thing you can say about us as a club, we are very good at bouncing back from adversity. Really? Like all clubs of our size we bounce between being good and being shit. It's the natural order of things. I don't see that adversity has much to do with it.
cc_star Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 Really? Like all clubs of our size we bounce between being good and being shit. It's the natural order of things. I don't see that adversity has much to do with it. We have bounced back quicker than most, look how long it took Forest & Leeds to get out of the 3rd tier, look at previous Playoff rivals like Cambridge & Swindon, while not as big a club as us at the time... Neither have been many to stay in the Prem for a number of years. Look how long it could still take Forest & Leeds to get back into the top tier where it looks highly likely we could do it this, season. Whereas they're ran by jokers & could still languish for years more.
