Mark_w Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 You sir are a moron ! Some of us bring our kids as they enjoy the game and will be the next set of "diehard" fans . Assume you dad took you to leicester when you were little? Kids go to the toilet and need a drink now and again ( it's called parenting ) and we leave slightly early so they don't get crushed on the way out ( again parenting ) when you stop blowing your wad in your sock and try a women you might understand one day young one ! I generally agree with you, but couldn't you wait in your seat until the crowds die down after the game? I'm sure you'd then avoid any potential crushing (that doesn't really happen anyway).
davieG Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 Plastic fans are wankers. There will be a whole bunch of youths turn up or adults with kids, just to see the opposition, call our players crap, go downstairs every 30 mins for food & drink, then piss off 10 mins before full time. If I get any people like that near me next season, I'll be having words. I weren't implying that at all, I was just mentioning what happens where I am. There's a difference between early leavers and plastic fans. Some people are both, but both are wankers. Perhaps you should look at what you write then because your post clearly starts off berating 'plastic fans' and then seemingly justifying why you think they are wankers.

Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 When you have to survive on 600 quid a month in benefits then I'm afraid football takes a back seat

I leave with 2 mins to go and watch the whistle In the concorse below on the TV. I don't miss the game and I payed like everyone to be there. Tbh I don't want me son to sit there another 10 mins ( sit at the back so he gets a better view ) In the cold just so FT doesn't think im plastic ?

Just do what's best for you. Personally I love to see the kids at games. Get em started young and then they'll get the bug.
flintshirefox Posted 18 March 2014 Author Posted 18 March 2014 I think I may have opened a hornets' nest here! I have come to the conclusion that I may have been able to consider myself 'hardcore' for most of the 90s but would be probably classed as 'plastic' these days. Shit happens - it's preferable to bankruptcy and a divorce ;-)
kingfox Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 Now that's the proper description of a plastic. Astonishingly, there are people like this who are ST holders. It's not about the amount of games you attend, it's about how you support the team where you can get there. IE, quality, not quantity. My mate is a ST holder, but now he would rather be with his girlfriend on a Saturday than watching a promotion chasing Leicester. That's plastic, & that's a disgrace. You sir are a moron ! You need to hold on a minute. Even though it came across me saying all parents who bring their kids are wankers, my intention was not to imply that. However there will be some adults who will take their kids, just to see the opposition, then in 5-10 years time those kids will be singing Blue Moon & Glory Glory Man United for the rest of their lives. Those will be regarded as plastic fans. Also kids getting crushed, you need to take a look at that hardcore West Ham kid in the Barclays advert, he don't hold no hand.
Master Fox Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 What happens when you've been going to all shit games over the last 10 years or so and don't go to any when we're winning every week? What does that make you/ me? This is the problem with football. The average fan doesn't use rational and logical thinking. Not to mention the sweeping statements and mass generalisation. I also can't stand that we're Leicester City (insert something that we do) every week song. Its so ****ing retarded. Maybe that's why I don't go? But some moron on a phone in thinks its perfectly okay to judge other fans on some kind made up moral compass devised by idiots to call other fans plastic. Being a Leicester fan is usually a shit experience so fvck off with your plastic comments. Let people enjoy the rare experience of success. Just because you go more often than other people, I hate to break it to you but you really have no baring on the teams performance on the pitch.
Bert Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 I think especially for families it's different. They could probably be available to go to all the matches but is it feasible financially? Of course not, not unless you're rolling in money which I would assume not every family is in that boat. So what are they gonna do? It's a no brainer as to which game they'd rather go. I do know a few people who are starting to take an interest now we're doing well, and whilst that annoys me what can we do about that? More fool them for paying premium prices for a match and the club thanks you for the money. I'm sure next season there will be plenty of "lifelong" Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd, Man city and Chelsea fans in the home areas of the ground. Now that'll annoy me to the max. Some people can get to every game, some people wish they could and some people do as much as possible to make as many games as they can. Each individual has their own circumstance and if that makes them plastic by definition of others then so be it. You can't please everyone.
StanSP Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 Put it this way - some disgraceful fans moan when the stadium is empty and then they're the same ones that moan when the stadium is full. Basically can't win with said people.
buzzy Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 If this is a dick-waving contest.............Roy is a massive dick. £20-£30 is a lot of money to anyone who doesn't still live with their parents. well said and most of the people who call fans plastic are still living with mummy and daddy and have not got a clue of real life
Webbo Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 I was a ST holder for 20 odd years, for the last 3 years I've only been to a handful of games per season. Does that make me plastic? I couldn't give a shit.

Guest Col city fan Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 well said and most of the people who call fans plastic are still living with mummy and daddy and have not got a clue of real life I would guess that's pretty much reflected on this forum too from time to time. You can usually tell who the kids are. Some of them are cool, some are very naive.
FrankieADZ Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 can see both sides on this...... though I tend to get more annoyed when a Priority 1/2 STH holder cant get an away ticket but say a fare-weather fan can/does.
yorkie1999 Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 I think this thread shows that Youngy is deaf for not listening to Roy's original point.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 For me the annoying aspects will be people who suddenly start going to matches once we are in the Prem, whereas for many, myself included, the all to likely increased cost will see many who would dearly love to go to every game, actually be able to afford less.
Master Fox Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 'We're Leicester City, we win every week' is perfectly accurate. The sound it makes. It makes my blood boil. It's not just that one occurrence. Its sung repeatedly, about everything. But no, I wish I could go more but I have things in my life that is more important to me than Leicester. I will go to last the last game of the season like i did last year at Watford away. Suck on my plastic, c Vnts. I sat through the dreadfulness with my season ticket in the Taylor, Bassett, Levein, Sousa ,Sven, Holloway, Worthington eras. All of it. But I miss every game season this season? So what. I will probably not be able to make it to any prem games either. That's life. Who needs to waste time and effort going when you've got Stringer, Youngy, and the internet streams. That's how the old soldiers from back in the day roll these days.
davieG Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 Plasticine is a more apt description, malleable, changes with the times and comes in many shapes and colours.
Lasty Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 This is a silly thing to argue about. We all support the same club and I certainly don't care about whether fans are 'plastic' or not. If you want to go, you buy a ticket and fair play to you. If not, it doesn't change anything in my eyes. The important thing is that you're a City fan. That's good enough for me.
65RosesFox Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 So what's the alternative be more like Wigan? Me personally will find it embarassing if when we're on MOTD next season there are a load of empty seats all around the stadium, rather than them filled with 'plastic fans.
Guest LCFC_World Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 So what? I attend as many games as possible, doesn't make me plastic because I don't go to all of them!
Lobsterboyuk Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 Agree with the point from the RL caller that those "fans" who turn up once in a blue moon (normally coinciding with a big game or a successful run) just to bitch and moan, shout abuse at the players and boo should fvck off. I have no problem at all with any fan who for whatever reason doesn't get to many games but actually supports the team and it's understandable that those who have to pick and choose go for the "glamour" games, "modern" football doesn't help with astronomical pricing if you're on a modest income...
