davieG Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Leicester City FC applies for planning permission to widen pitch By Leicester Mercury | Posted: April 24, 2014 Leicester City FC has applied for planning permission to widen one of the practice pitches at its training ground, so it is a similar size to the playing surface at its King Power ground. The football club has three training pitches at its base at Belvoir Drive, off Aylestone Road. One is 97 metres long and 59 metres wide, while the stadium pitch is 105 metres by 68 metres. An application submitted to Leicester City Council by the club said: "It is important that the size of their main training pitches mirrors the pitch at the King Power stadium." Planning officers are considering the scheme. Read more: http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/Plan-pitch/story-21004142-detail/story.html#ixzz2zn9aXqSh
AyewJoking Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 why would they need planning permission on something as simple as making a football pitch bigger?
Bayfox Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 why would they need planning permission on something as simple as making a football pitch bigger? Seems odd, last time I looked football pitches are marked with white lines, I'd suggest they just need a tape measure!!!
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 I thought this place was unfit for purpose Milan and that the only way to achieve Premier League standard facilities for the good of Leicester City FC was to sell the land and permanently move to borrowing Loughborough Uni's facilities?!
Captain... Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 why would they need planning permission on something as simple as making a football pitch bigger? You need planning permission for everything, if they need to move back the fences to give them the space to extend it then it will need PP.
Babylon Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 I thought this place was unfit for purpose Milan and that the only way to achieve Premier League standard facilities for the good of Leicester City FC was to sell the land and permanently move to borrowing Loughborough Uni's facilities?! You believed that? It was all about the many pound notes he would receive from developers.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 You believed that? It was all about the many pound notes he would receive from developers. Of course I didn't believe that! Is was sarcasm hence the '?!'.... This is another one for the "he saved us"/"he had our best interests at heart" brigade though. For all we don't really know The Thais intentions at least they're prepared to do things properly, genuinely for the good of the club and team.
Babylon Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Of course I didn't believe that! Is was sarcasm hence the '?!'.... Sorry I didn't know a question mark and an exclamation mark were now the universal standards for sarcasm?!
shade Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Sorry I didn't know a question mark and an exclamation mark were now the universal standards for sarcasm?! are you autistic? it was the most obvious sarcasm ever.
CosbehFox Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 why would they need planning permission on something as simple as making a football pitch bigger? Might be moving a fence line or digging up a tree.
Babylon Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 are you autistic? it was the most obvious sarcasm ever. No I'd disagree, I'd say mine was far more obvious sarcasm?! And thus I must conclude you are autistic.
thybluefox Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 They've got to do some ground works involving moving one of the banks - the pitches are currently on different levels and to make one bigger they need to push the bank back. I think this is all well underway now anyway though?
Soar Fox Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 They are having under heating soil installed at the training ground aswell.
Babylon Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 They are having under heating soil installed at the training ground aswell. Yeah it says in the first post.
Soar Fox Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Yeah it says in the first post. Ha ha I didn't see that.
Steven Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Yeah it says in the first post. They are getting artificial type pitches.
Bert Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 They are getting artificial type pitches. It'll be the same standard of pitch as the one at the ground.
Soar Fox Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 They are getting artificial type pitches. They are also trying to get permission to extend one of the training pitches.
Steven Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 They are also trying to get permission to extend one of the training pitches. With or without under-soil heating?
Soar Fox Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 With or without under-soil heating? I'm not sure, I've not saw anything mentioned about that....
