Simmo86 Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 Does anyone know how old he was? RIP and condolences to his friends and family if the worst has happened. 70 From Desborough in Northants
broughtonblue Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 Those on this forum last night slating their fellow supporters should hang their heads in shame. RIP.Why?
Leicesterlad96 Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 Hearing reports that a city fan passed away at the game last night, anybody confirm this? Very sad if it's true nobody should not return home from supporting the club they love. RIP
DennisNedry Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 The ambulance drove right past us as well on the way out
Larry_LCFC Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 Take twitter with a pinch of salt, but Ive read a lot of tweets saying RIP. Sad news if true.
Lionator Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 It's not something to speculate about. If it comes out through official lines then indeed it's very sad.
Tom17LCFC Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 Would it be worth contacting the club to arrange something in his memory at the QPR game like a silence/applause?
stevelcfc Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 I've seen it posted around, if true, it's very sad and puts the shambles of last night, both on the pitch and in the stands into a very real sense of perspective.
One Legged Beaver Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 Tragic news and RIP, thoughts go out to the family.
AndWhat? Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 If its the same guy who I seen in the east stand concourse getting CPR before the game, then it looked pretty serious. RIP, thoughts are with the family.
Yojoe36 Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 There was paramedics in the east stand around turnstile 32 pre-match.

Voll Blau Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 Very sad to hear. Hopefully those close to him can take some comfort from the fact he was somewhere he obviously enjoyed spending time when he fell ill.
CPW22 Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 RIP. Horrible news to hear. I remember being at London Road a few years ago when something similar happened. Horrific.
Tommy G Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 Rest in peace. I hope the club pick up on this. Maybe the proceeds from Birch's run could be donated to any family members. Was he at the game with anyone?
Shaun Bailey Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 70 From Desborough in Northants Firstly, I would like to thank everyone for there kind wishes. I can confirm that the person was my Uncle, Roger Evans, from Desborough, Northants aged 70, unfortunately he died pretty much there and then from a heart attack. It is a great shock to the family as he had worked that day and hadn't appeared to be in any distress before he left for the game or in the days before. He had been a City season ticket holder for years and loved his football and the club. I'm sure in a way he would have been happy to die in a place he loved and without prolonged suffering. On the subject of perspective, I'm not annoyed by complaints about lack of atmosphere at the game etc., but it is important to remember a fan is a fan and it shouldn't be broken down into - go to every game fan/go to home games STH fan/casual fan/plastic fan/bandwagon fan - we all want City to do as well as they can. Would it be worth contacting the club to arrange something in his memory at the QPR game like a silence/applause? Would be lovely if they could and I'm sure the rest of the family would appreciate it, but I would understand if its though not appropriate in this case.

Larry_LCFC Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 RIP. Thoughts are with you all. Think it would be good to honour him with a minutes applause before the QPR match.
Tommy G Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 We need to do something more than a minutes applause...hopefully someone who has ties at the club can do something for the family if appropriate.
