Dan Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 I don't find them as interesting as I should. I rarely do THAT well with Leicester either.
Finnegan Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 I used to always play as Leicester when all of our players were crap and I didn't like them. Now we've got a team full of fan favourites and they're all still crap on FM, it annoys me. So I don't bother.
MooseBreath Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 I'm finding Leicester a good challenge. At this rate it will take ten seasons to establish them as European elite. I think your problem is you keep starting new saves. It's like playing the same level of the same game over and over, of course it's going to get easy and boring. I prefer keeping saves going and when I'm bored I'll get a new job within the save.
4everfox Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Director of football can be a handy way of increasing scouting knowledge. Anybody else find Leicester saves boring? I find Leicester in FM15 boring. I much prefer when we are in the Championship for some reason, always breeds a more successful save in my opinion. FM12 was unreal for Leicester, never had more success with them. I don't know whether it was a glitch but whenever we had a corner in that save I knew we were going to score. Matt Mills got me 20 odd goals from set pieces in the 11/12 season. Most enjoyable save ever has got to be Notts County in FM10, I'd recommend that to anybody.

I was sacked midway through the first season and with 0 rep I managed to get a job at Tranmere which went well at first but I had an awful run towards the end of the season and just missed out on the play offs. I resigned as I thought this would give me more credibility at my next interview. I then joined a French National side (GFC Ajaccio) god they were shit. I had to really lie at the interview to get the job. They were in all sorts of financial difficulty but had one decent 14 year old that all the top clubs were after and one prolific 32 year old striker who I lied to to keep! In my first interview a journalist asked me "do you think your inability to speak French will hinder you at all?" I said calmly "can you say that again? but this time more slowly and clearly" it didn't go down well so the local French stringer had it in for me from day one! On a side note, has anyone witnessed the draw for the early rounds of the French cup? There's like 800 teams involved and it takes ages to go through that weekend! Anyway, the club said I was doing shit and the only thing stopping me from getting the sack was they couldn't afford to sack me! They also commented on what a tight knit squad with perfect harmony I had formed, probably because I'd lied to half of them to keep them happy. Soon I couldn't deliver my promises/lies and they all turned on me! I knew this would be my last job as no other club would touch me so only now is it time for a restart. At least I learned Tranmere have absolutely no players to scout. But that 14 year old in France.......(although he possibly could be a regen)
Richard Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Getting a lot of success from Jordan Ayew as a Ramdeuter

Notts County on FM10 was the FM player's dream. Second tier saves are always far better for some reason. Going to Ligue 2 or 2.Bundesliga when I'm bored of these (or sacked, why can I not get Leicester to click?!)
LCFC FOX Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 I'm so glad they had burger vans as a main inclusion on this years game. I wonder what they'll look like on next years game.

If your interested in a highly enjoyable Leicester save I'd strongly recommend you acquire FM12 mate, doesn't seem outdated when playing it and you get a monster transfer budget, especially second season (if you get promoted). As Notts County on FM10, 1 million budget is substantial in league two. I remember signing John Rankin from Hibernian in central midfield and he was an absolute beast. Most enjoyable save ever unquestionably. I have the same problem on this years FM with Leicester, they just wont click for me either. I don't like the fact that you only get about 10 million to spend when so much more is needed. The squad lacks quality significantly. I signed Ladislav Krejci, David Pavelka and a centre half of Panamanian descent (I forgot his name) and that was the budget gone. I could have done with two or three more to get the squad where it needed to be.

Richard Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Will undoubtedly impload, average age is like 22 but should hopefully get 5th/6th
TheSomersetFox Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Agree with those on about the Notts County FM10 save. Kasper was great, had Matic and Caicedo in the championship aswell. Caicedo on like 30k and an 8k goal bonus scored around 40 odd in that year too.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Got palace to seventh in the Prem, then left as I wanted to move to a bigger club. Applied for the Dortmund job, thinking I was god. Then got turned down after the interview and made to either apologise or resign at palace. Left palace, now at Borussia Monchengladbach. 4 games into the season, currently second with 3 wins, 1 draw. Signed Kramaric, he's boss. Got 7 in 5.
4everfox Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Luke Garbutt on loan Carlos Fierro Lucas Romero Sell Nugent & Wood, that'll bring you in about £7-8 million. Luke Garbutt has Championship ability in this game at the beginning, Fierro and Romero are too expensive. I have signed them both before and Romero especially is absolute quality. I'm managing Spurs currently and have signed Eder Alvarez Balanta, Marcelo Meli, Eugene Konoplyanka, Jorge Correa and Raul Jiminez in the 2015 January transfer window. I started the game as an unemployed former international footballer and ended up taking this job after rejecting a few others. I'm going for a new approach as opposed to the usual lower league / lower reputation approach.

I'll never forget being Huddersfield on FM10, signing Nathan Tyson from Forest reserves as a back-up striker and he bagged me something like 45 goals in the Championship. Pace and finishing was literally all you needed back then. That defender you signed will be Felipe Baloy.

Nathan Tyson was the guy I signed for Notts County and he was immense, I signed a striker from Livingston called Liam Buchanan as well and he was brilliant. Raiding the Scottish leagues was well worth it as Notts County.
Ozwin Posted 21 June 2015 Posted 21 June 2015 Got back into my Leicester save after a few weeks off. Absolutely killing it with possibly the greatest team I've ever assembled. Loads of regens though so not really worth posting a pic of the side. Wish there was somewhere that told you more clearly how many trophies you've won. They should have a 'Trophy Cabinet' area or something.

maynefox Posted 22 June 2015 Posted 22 June 2015 In the Championship with FC United and I've got a relegation battle on my hands!! I did not sign well in the summer, although I have some cash to splash to strengthen the squad in January. I've changed formations to a Personesque wing-back formation. Results have improved following 14 games without a win! Not sure if I will stay up. I need some good players come January. I've managed to keep Wolves up twice in the PL before but that was a while ago - has anyone got any good advice for team-talks/team meetings when you're in a relegation dog fight?

If morale is low NEVER criticise poor performances always use "unlucky" and "good effort". Before a match use "I have faith in you" and "no pressure". NEVER use "don't get complacent" at half time, instead use "good performance, keep it up" and "we can still win this". All of the above should be said calmly or passionately, NEVER assertively. Do the opposite when morale is high and if that doesn't work you have got tactics wrong or your team is simply not good enough. As for team meetings, use the option that says "things haven't been going our way recently but we have the quality to turn this around", say that passionately. Hope this helps.
General Smuts Posted 22 June 2015 Posted 22 June 2015 Parma's decline is made for FM 2016 Beat me to it hahaha!

I will call them unlucky if I feel they've not done too badly. I cannot do anything but tell them assertively how I feel if they've gone and lost 4-1 at Newcastle regardless of morale. I wonder if it kind of registers that for future reference - if morale is low then I will generally call a team meeting (I'd like to see more detail on these in 16) which tends to build up morale, although it will likely be shot back down again if we lose the next game. I'll encourage players and say "you've got my support" or whatever it is along those lines in a private conversation if they're well short of form. Eventually though you have to shake things up. I've always found it a bit odd quite how well formation changes work. You can play 4-3-3 for example, it turns to crap and a tweak to 3-4-1-2 will work wonders. The same happened on my Leicester game this season just gone, I was 19th in the league (pathetic given what I'd spent) but a change to 4-4-1-1 and we produced top four form for a good half of the season and ended up finishing 10th. There's often a bit of luck involved in this game in my opinion but in a relegation battle it really is all about just grabbing that one morale boosting result. I scraped a 0-1 win at Sunderland away with a formation and team that three months later I'd have gone to Sunderland expecting to win pretty comfortably. Been taken over by a Spanish consortium who "had links in Wales" so wanted Pulis to replace me. Got a bit lucky with the timing because six months earlier and I was out of there, but I've ended up signing a new deal. Really annoyed with the budget though - our finances were precarious (Top had given me a bit too much and I spent it all which is unlike me) but this bloke's come in and immediately got us projecting a profit, projecting me £30mil a year in budgets in the next three seasons - so why on earth have I only got a measly four million to spend this year? I bet you he goes and gives me a load in about November as well when we're actually quite short on players. So many of our squad are on too much. Albrighton is criminally under-rated on this game yet he's on £35k a week!
maynefox Posted 22 June 2015 Posted 22 June 2015 My morale isn't drastically low. I've added to the team in January and we have managed to pick up some inconsistent results. What annoys me is that my team do really well against teams in the Championship that are top-half etc. However, whenever I play a team who are in a relegation scrap I always lose, just lost to Millwall 4v1 with a ****ing pathetic performance. It's so annoying that keeps happening. I beat a team in the play-offs 2v0 then lose the following week to a crap team 4v1! HELP PLEASE?!
