AKCJ Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 Piatti is just dominating at the moment. Finished top of my Europa League group with Lyon, AEK and Fenerbache. Despite Emenike doing his best to worry me. won 4 and drew away to Lyon, last game is home to Lyon. League form is tailing off though, annoyingly. Slipped down to 10th after being around 5th/6th for much of the opening months.

Kyle Walker forced his way out (that's 3 players this transfer window) and I had Roma's pants down with Vlad Chiriches, leaving me even shorter on defenders. I've signed Emmanuel Mammana and I've agreed a fee for Samuel Umtiti. As for the right back position my first choice replacement for Walker is Mario Fernandes but the scout report suggests I will struggle to get a work permit which has been the case and I have appealed in the hope that I can get him. Failing that Sime Vrsaljko is my second choice, I've agreed a fee and offered a contract but there is a lot of competition for his signature. I'm really hoping to get Fernandes as he looks quality. I've also signed Ron-Robert Zieler as back up to Lloris. I've also offloaded more deadwood. Paulinho, Townsend and Lennon have all been sold.

This was or has been down to four players really. Kranvitter, tielmans, Bernard silva and Thievy (free t/x). Issue is I play and midfield three with the afore mentioned lads and they have been spectacular with silva reaching average rating of 8.06 in 28 games. Now the real big teams have been sniffing and have activated the release clauses on all three of them. Granted I've landed over 140 million upfront plus a sell on fee for two of them. I'm really struggling to replace them, as usual candidates are obviously settled at clubs. Looked at wilshere, kovacavic, praet and Henderson (eugh) however respective clubs are wanting 70 odd million for em. I have potentially world class regens however they are not ready to jump into a European champions cup team. Anyone have any idea whom might be good enough and relatively cheap (30million) to play for a hertha side who have just won champions league start of transfer window 4th season in I think or third. Convoluted I know but need advice.

His work permit got refused after the appeal which I'm a bit gutted about but Sime Vrsaljko is certainly a decent alternative. My transfer business was done but I couldn't help myself but sign a player I found called Neal Maupey, 18 year old wonderkid.

Haven't got this one as I find FM to be a life sap (albeit a fun one) and it got too easy for since I understood CA/PA make-up of players. Lower Leagues is pretty brutal. If you can get a half decent scout then you may be in luck. You're relying on knowledge of players and getting lucky by stumbling across some others. Pace is the biggest key. Anybody with pace 14+ at that level is going to be important and ideally you want to get one centre mid who is probably at the end of their career but has lots of excellent technical/mental attributes even if their pace is less than 5. It's definitely the most fun time of the game I found.
Dan Posted 7 July 2015 Posted 7 July 2015 It's a bit too low for me, I like to feel like I can really build something and there's only so much you can build at Eastleigh if you've not got tonnes of patience. But I agree with the tips - pace seems to turn absolute rubbish players into wizards at that level. I used to manage Grimsby and I had a striker there, forget the name, absolutely dreadful barring his speed and yet he used to play like Maradona. Produced some fantastic technical goals which simply shouldn't happen for someone like that Playing with no budget I find very frustrating. Bloody hell I'm pinning my hopes on Medhi Abeid, hoping he's as good for me as he was when I was at Nantes.

I'm not sure what year you are in, but if you have managed higher divisions before and then drop down to the conference that helps because of your superior coaching attributes for that division. Try and sign players on free transfers and you can get good scouts who are around for a small-ish wage fee. I've decided to start a save with Norway! Aim to qualify for the Euro16. After three games I sit third in the group with 5 points having: Croatia (draw A), Italy (draw H) & Azerbaijan (win H). Norway actually have decent players. But I haven't picked many of their best [players due to their poor club form or not even playing (then they go mental at me!!). So far I have managed to get Norway's FIFA ranking 13 places higher than at the start of the save!
