StanSP Posted 25 April 2014 Posted 25 April 2014 Can't see it right now but is it honestly better than previous efforts (the cage ones or the ones where they're knocking it about stadiums and cities and the fat Ronaldo was in it).?
AjcW Posted 25 April 2014 Author Posted 25 April 2014 Can't see it right now but is it honestly better than previous efforts (the cage ones or the ones where they're knocking it about stadiums and cities and the fat Ronaldo was in it).? It's got a nice element of humour mate, it's probably not quite as technical but like I said quite funny and some good guest appearances.
ScouseFox Posted 25 April 2014 Posted 25 April 2014 it's no "olé" or cage match or henry running round his house being chased by the whole man u team. still decent tho
Trav Le Bleu Posted 25 April 2014 Posted 25 April 2014 Kermogant Jr there. Nike ads are always a highlight of any World Cup.
Finnegan Posted 25 April 2014 Posted 25 April 2014 The should have said "Kermogant" at the end and chipped it straight to the keeper.
AndWhat? Posted 25 April 2014 Posted 25 April 2014 Nothing will beat the Edgar Davids with the robots one!
Bert Posted 25 April 2014 Posted 25 April 2014 Nothing will beat the Edgar Davids with the robots one!Amen
sdb Posted 25 April 2014 Posted 25 April 2014 I like the humour in this one. Tim Howard/Hulk, plus the notion that Wayne Rooney is a top class player. That made me smile. It's not as good as the Edgar Davids one, nor the cage, nor the Brasil Airport one.
Grandad. Posted 25 April 2014 Posted 25 April 2014 Brazil airport all day long for me but that is good, Zlatan .
Finnegan Posted 25 April 2014 Posted 25 April 2014 They're all class but the cage series was my favourite. Nakata's backheel volley was my favourite. Also, was Seol Ki Hyeun actually anywhere in it!?
AKCJ Posted 25 April 2014 Posted 25 April 2014 "Ole" is my favourite. Closely followed by the Cage Tournament.
MC Prussian Posted 25 April 2014 Posted 25 April 2014 Way too long, must've cost a ridiculous amount of money to organize, shoot and edit. It starts out with that neat idea (youngsters on the pitch playing as their idols), but then becomes too self-indulgent and OTT.

It starts out with that neat idea (youngsters on the pitch playing as their idols), but then becomes too self-indulgent and OTT. Too long? Too expensive? Self-indulgent and over the top? Isn't that the entire concept of a Nike pre-World Cup commercial?
MC Prussian Posted 26 April 2014 Posted 26 April 2014 Too long? Too expensive? Self-indulgent and over the top? Isn't that the entire concept of a Nike pre-World Cup commercial? I don't think so - thanks to the overabundance of CGI, it goes Michael Bay. Previous manifestations were less SFX-heavy, were funnier and had more heart - at least in my opinion.
ADK Posted 26 April 2014 Posted 26 April 2014 Not world cup related but this is still my favourite advert for sports gear http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gxzdo8FfrW0
Nalis Posted 26 April 2014 Posted 26 April 2014 Its a decent ad but **** me I'm getting bored of it already. It's the opening ad for most YouTube videos at the minute ffs...
Danizen Posted 26 April 2014 Posted 26 April 2014 Stuck a tenner on Burnley at 6/5To win the World Cup?
Jimothy Posted 26 April 2014 Posted 26 April 2014 Stuck a tenner on Burnley at 6/5 Burnley? Thought I heard someone shout Arfield in the middle of that advert.
Finnegan Posted 27 April 2014 Posted 27 April 2014 Is that a cgi rooney? Just a wonky bit of green screen I think.
AKCJ Posted 27 April 2014 Posted 27 April 2014 Is that a cgi rooney? Shrek and The Incredible Hulk do share some characteristics.
