This might seal it. Otherwise there is a chance that he will be at Brighton until January. It will be too late then.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 I like Ulloa. He was the one player I thought we should target this summer (check MattP's starting XI thread from before the end of the season). That wasn't just based on the game at our place. I just think he would complement Vardy perfectly and between them they have virtually everything you need in a strike partnership (other than proven Premier League quality, I suppose, but you have to start somewhere, they're both at their peak age-wise and Lambert/Rodriguez as a strike partnership wasn't proven at the top level until very recently). I'm not too concerned about the price tag. We have plenty of cash and Albrighton was a 3-4m player we got for free. I think that's a logical reference.
Grewks Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 The lad can finish. Undoubtedly. It's a shame he's got so little else to his game. GTF could he look any less like a footballer? Unless i am mistaken, does wood not have 5+ years on nugent? Pretty sure the experience from the coming season, as well as the help from phillips, who of course wasn't a similar striker but he knows what Quinn was required to do when playing alongside him, will help him develop his game. We all know nugent's finishing is poor in general, but he does have a wider range of skills than wood. But we sometimes forget just how young wood is.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Newcastle signing Riviere for around £5m puts the fee quoted for Ulloa in context for me. Why's that then? *It's £6 million, as well.
Carlos88LCFC Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 People saying we got all these players for free so we should spend over the top for Ulloa are absolutely deluded. How is that even going through your mind?! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Robin JD Popley Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 The fact is he has been left out of two successive games now. He may genuinely be injured, but, there does seem to be more headway from their local paper on the issue this time which suggests to me they are trying to ascertain the reason why. We will probably read an article in an hour or two with the same rhetoric as before, but, there may also be a chance we have had a bid accepted (FINALLY). Also hearing we are in for Delort (almost) certainly now may accelerate his wish to play in the Premiership... If I remember reading somewhere on here the other day from an 'ITK' that there was a feeling we may be only a week or so away from a new face into the club, so, let's just hope that one way or another this is resolved soon. I think I speak for us all when I say we couldn't take another 38 pages of hanging around!

We'll be fine.
louie0316 Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Brighton after chris I Grady so if we get ulloa big profit for Brighton to rebuild
Robin JD Popley Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Brighton after chris I Grady so if we get ulloa big profit for Brighton to rebuild Probably the sign it isn't far off?
Perseus Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Brighton after chris I Grady so if we get ulloa big profit for Brighton to rebuild This is just a wild rumour. I would not be surprised in an interest in one of their players though.
Bert Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 This is just a wild rumour. I would not be surprised in an interest in one of their players though. It's not a wild rumour if Sky Sports Pete says so!
Perseus Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 I expect the Ulloa transfer to go through as the same signs as Bridcutt departing. Leicester seems the probable club.
dave_the_fox Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 My previous post might have had a little bit of sarcasm in it, Possibly. Oh yeah i felt that pal just thought I'd get the statement across before anyone else said it was a good idea
dpjfox Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Brighton agree fee with Barnsley for OGrady, maybe this deal was key to the Ulloa transfer
Woollett's Wellies Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Loads of speculation on the Brighton forum that the deal is done including a comment from a poster that a local journalist has told him that Ulloa has 'said his goodbyes'. Whether it's forum talk or truth, I guess we'll find out shortly. Fee rumoured to be 7/7.5m.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Definitely some smoke in this unless the Brighton lot are collectively trolling us.
Brooksy Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Andy Naylor @AndyNaylorArgus · 3m Leo Ulloa's move to Leicester should be completed tomorrow. Understand the fee is in excess of £7 million. #bhafc

ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 O'Grady on his way to Brighton... surely has to mean Ulloa is coming here!
Tom17LCFC Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 I've got a feeling this lad's gonna smash it next year.
Perseus Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Leicester now confirmed as the team Ulloa is going to.
