Unproven at Premiership level. Absolutely, if I were the manager of a Prem club, I would never pick anyone who hadn't already played in the Prem

You can't do that, how can you even give one of your bright new young players who have come through the academy a senior debut match when they have never played at that level before.

Look at Vardy, we should never have given him the opportunity to play for us when he had never even played above non league. What a waste of a million pounds, and we should never give our young academy players a chance either because they have never played at that level!

Other players we shouldn't pick are Wes, Schlupp,Knocky, Drinky, Matty, Mahrez, Liam, King, or Was! Just think how good we'd be then.

For me it's not that he's unproven, it's the fact it's going to cost 10 million to find out if he can cut it.

At say 4 -5 million I wouldn't bat an eye lid, and say he's worth a gamble, but 8- 10 million is daylight robbery, and for me stops becoming a gamble, and he's got to hit the ground running.

"unproven in the premiership" is one of the most idiotic expressions repeated in this thread.

Especially considering our squad!

I'm not saying it like that... I'm saying 7.5 million for a player that is getting on and never played in the Prem is a bit steep thats all.

How much did way pay for players in the current squad? Prob 7mill in total!

Brighton hold all the aces,if Nigel wants him that badly he has to go higher than what you or I might think the player is worth,it's not a gamble for me.

Some clubs have paid millions for players who have turned out to be next to useless.

Unproven, lack of experience, too much money, 6.5, 7.5, happy at Brighton, daylight robbery, Maynard, embarrassing, what we need, too old, could be good for us, boring, trust in Nige, would rather have McCormack, not proven in the premiership.

The point? There is no point. That's the point. A summary of everyone's opinions, to emphasise this point and how ridiculous the collective point is.

The only worry I have apart from the fee is the fact that the Brighton fan said as they only have on average one or two shots a game, he spends most of the time standing around with his arms crossed.

Funny that? Pity they didn't do that at the kp? We may have not lost 4 1?

Hate it when we go whoring after players with multiple increased bids. Either we put in a ridiculous initial offer or the selling club have an over inflated view of the players value.Move on.

It's all a question of balance. Albrighton, cost us nothing, Hamer and Upson cost us nothing, if when we get Ulloa those four players cost us £8M, I for one would count that as excellent business, especially as non of them will be breaking records on wages.

I think brighton are holding us to ransom over this. They are pissed cos we got Upson on a free hence they are over inflating the price for Ulloa in the hope we will pay a silly price.

What does not help us either and I said it at the time our owners saying we have a 180 million war chest blah blah, etc, etc and stupid clubs like Fulham paying stupid money for Ross Mccormack.

Wish we would look abroad. If Swansea can do it with the likes of Michu think they paid 2 million why can't we do the same?

We did with Mahrez and Knocky.

NP said in an interview that the owners were misquoted on the £180m. In the prem we have to put up with higher prices and lies in the paper I'm afraid.

...because it's not that easy.

A lot of our alternatives to Ulloa (Valencia, Pelle etc) have gone elsewhere. I just hope there are other realistic alternatives and we don't end up signing Ulloa on deadline day for an overinflated price.

It's obviously time to shut the forum down.

I'm not sure where it happened but you now seem to be the voice of reason and one of my favourite posters. (For now  :)  )

That's utter bollocks though. You can't justify a ridiculously priced player just because you've bought three decent free transfer ins and to be fair decent would be stretching it, it's a reserve goal keeper a center back with serious questions marks over his head as to whether he is going to be able to cut it at this level still and a winger who merely adds depth as opposed to remarkably improving the squad.

For 8 Million we could buy two players that are better than Leanoardo Ulloa, this transfer is slowly approaching McCormack embarrassment levels. We should look elsewhere.

We could get Remy for £8m..

Simple as that, Top walks into QPR's club shop with a briefcase full of £50s and walks out hand in hand with Remy and we all lived happily ever after.

The only problem with that is that hes on £75k a week...
