@danielstorey85: Everyone prepare to replicate your Ross McCormack shock horror. Leicester are about to pay a silly fee for Brighton's Leonardo Ulloa.

Leicester are buying Ulloa from Brighton for a reported 9 million.....

Do you think Pearson and co. are going into this just randomly picking Ulloa thinking he's no better than we currently have and just constantly bidding for him because they can't be arsed to scout elsewhere.

Or do you think they are specifically targeting him because they think he will bring something to the table that we don't currently have, a specific skill set that meets their needs for the current season.

Everyone on here has banged on about how great we've been at picking players (with good reason), do you think that's suddenly gone out the window? There are no guarantees with any signing, but they are clearly going to have done their homework.

So, if Ulloa is who they want at the club, and they have managed to save money by signing free transfers for other positions, other options they like aren't freely available, then spending a bit more money on said player that you saved elsehwere isn't the end of the world.

every ****er raves about ulloa because he scored against us....just like fuctas

as i said weeks ago, i dont really care what the fee is - the season starts in less than a month and we need to be ready.  if it all goes wrong then a few million quid will be the lest of our concerns. we have to stay up and if pearson thinks this fella is important in that regard then just get it done. we've tried to be clever and been outfoxed !  in a couple of weeks, no one will care about the fee.

Unless i am mistaken, does wood not have 5+ years on nugent?

Pretty sure the experience from the coming season, as well as the help from phillips, who of course wasn't a similar striker but he knows what Quinn was required to do when playing alongside him, will help him develop his game.

We all know nugent's finishing is poor in general, but he does have a wider range of skills than wood. But we sometimes forget just how young wood is.

Wood is young and if he was to leave, I'd like to hope it was on loan. Trouble is though - he's had a load of loans out already. For whatever reason he just doesn't seem to fit here.

Leo Ulloa's move to Leicester should be completed tomorrow. Understand the fee is in excess of £7 million. #bhafc

Wow. Actually happening then it seems.

WHO'S THAT LAD FROM ARGENTIIIIIIINA

Probably a "fee rising to £9m" based on staying up, which I'm sure we're all quite ok with.

If Nige is happy I'm happy.

It's nowhere near £9 million. You're off by 2 million backwards.

Pearson clearly wants the guy so I have every faith he will come up trumps. If every game is like the one he played against us then we'll be laughing. Unfortunately it won't be but I still believe we have needed this mobile target man player for a while. Really have a good feeling about this signing for some reason.

Fail to believe £9m price though. I feel fees are always overstated these days. It is probably around £6m/£7m and could rise to £9m. Either way it's not like we've paid £9m up front. Absolutely no way!

I don't understand the problem some people have with the amount of money we pay for a player, if Nigel Pearson and his staff believe they worth that much then in my mind that is enough, They know much more about them than most of us, and therefore surely we should trust their judgment?

The £9 million has come from a Sunderland fan plucking out a figure above £7 million, stick to what is being reported by more credible sources.

What did West Brom/Hull pay for Shane Long wasn't that £7 million?

A lot of money and I'm not very excited but Nigel usually knows what he's doing. I assume Delort won't be coming in as well now.
