Leonardo Ulloa (Brighton) - Bid accepted

Warming to this move more and more.

Exactly the type of player we need. £7m will be cheap if he bangs the goals in.

We've knocked them down 3 mill - Nige and his team have watched him for a long time so know what he's about.

A target man that has good anticipation latching on to Albrightons crosses - hope this goes through quickly

People make me laugh. "Get Wickham instead he has Premier League experience"... Where did he start again? Ipswich, in the Championship? ... It's as if people think players are automatically Premier League players and every player outside the top flight isn't good enough. Look at Rickie Lambert, end of.

I don't see people's problem with the price to be honest, some people have spent more on a lot worse and we all know that Ulloa is a capable player. His scoring ability isn't the only thing he's bringing. Along with Upson he's bringing an aerial threat up front as well as defensively (or do I heard from the Brighton forum) which is exactly what we need for our number one problem: set pieces. People have moaned about it all season quite rightly, but now when Pearson is sealing the problem for, shock horror, a Premier League pricetag with someone with experience and has proven themselves in the English game, and not

someone for £500k out the Belgium Second Division playing against semi pros, we're up in arms.

Lets be honest here, the Danish wonder kid for £8 million, or a proven target man with a good finish for £7-9 million?

In his 5 years with us so far, Nigel has only ever made what I would call one 'disaster' signing in Yann K and he even turned out to be good elsewhere so probably just wasn't suited to our style of play - so we know Nigel has more often than not brought us good players.

He is entering his prime as a striker, he will want to prove himself on the biggest stage and I look forward to hearing 'WHO'S THAT MAN FROM ARGENTINA?' (unless we come up with our song for him) resonating around the King Power next season.

Nice to (almost) have you here Leo! :)

Over 7m not at all convinced with that price for him, surely there is better out there for that.price tag?? But in nige we trust!!

People say this but who the hell could we get?

lol  I know but everyone seems to think it's easy to pluck out cheap players that are going to turn out to be superstars. Just because we've managed to have some great buys in Knockaert and Mahrez recently it doesn't mean we can do it over and over again. Yes we have splashed the cash but to me, having seen him play, I feel he is exactly what we need and offers us so much more than potential goals. Just as with Vardy his other attributes will be key. I can see him being able to bring so many people into play with his strength and hold-up abilities. In the premier league £7m is not to be sniffed at. We've only ended up paying that much because Brighton were in a position where they didn't want to sell and they knew we really wanted the player. That happens in modern football but if he has the impact to keep us up then £7m will feel like a very small sum indeed.

At least he wants to play for us, that to me tends to be the key as to why Pearsons signings are usually so successful. Doesn't matter how much you pay if a player is a club for the money rather than to play for the club you end up like QPR or Svens Leicester City

kingfox's extensive knowledge of the Venezuelan second and Cambodian third divisions would provide the answers

People also forget Jay Rodriguez cost Southampton a similar amount with a similar goalscoring record.

Its alot of money, too much. In pearson we trust i guess, the fact that people like shane long were bought for 7M who is proved to get 10 goals + a season, lets see how it plans out.

Long has only scored over 10 twice in his career?

This

If he was a few years younger I'd feel happier about the fee.

He's the one we wanted and you can't say that we don't do our homework.

Not in my widest dreams would i ever have imagined that Chris "the biz" o' Grady was the one thing that was dragging this on! ;)

7 mil is steep but that's football nowadays, i trust Nige and his team with this one...

Hopefully we might be able to score from a corner now.

Happy with this signing. Good strong powerfull player who knows where the net is.

With Albrightons crosses he could reach double figures for us.
