Honestly mate , I was sozzled but had it confirmed by family I was with the following morning at breakfast. I was shocked myself but they were his words.

Maybe he just said that to you because you were annoying him pissed up, on Christmas day???

thats the long ang short of it. NP hasnt probably given him a second thought. Smacks of an agent doing some PR to keep in product in full view of potential buyers.

Just another agent hyping up his client HOWEVER I would take him back in a heartbeat. I was gutted when he left!

When he came on verses Fulham away to start the second half of the cup match he turned that game around. He has a little stash of magic in his locker, and we had a great song for him too ;-)

That said, there's almost certainly nowt in this and NP probably wouldn't want him back after seemingly letting him go so easily.

I'd probably take Gradel back tbh. In the days before Mahrez and Knockaert he was the best attacking wide player we had by miles. He was the only one who could run at a man and beat him. Mahrez and Knockaert will undoubtedly eclipse him in their careers but Gradel is still very useful.

Went out on loan to get first team football in League One at Leeds and then decided he'd rather go there permanently than stay and fight for a place here, which is fair enough - Pearson's not one to keep players around who don't want to be here and I suppose we'll never know what went on behind the scenes in terms of the manager trying to keep the player etc.

But Pearson doesn't strike me as the kind of bloke to hold a grudge, after all - would he have come back to Leicester if he did? I know Mandaric and Hoos were gone, but the Thais were a big part of the reason he was pushed out in the first place. I think he's prepared to give second chances and Max is a very different player than the one who couldn't get into our Championship side before. Wouldn't be surprised if he did come back tbh.

EDIT: Also, I'd say Pearson's management style and tactical style have evolved significantly since Gradel was last here. With players like Mahrez and Knockaert in the side, and the free-flowing football we play, Gradel would certainly fit in a lot better now.

Agree with this. Good post.

I always thought Dyer was more effective than Gradel when both were at the club and around the same squad, to say the latter was the best "by miles" is hyperbole of the highest order, and to say he was the only one who could run at, and beat, a man is laughable.

I think he's just the sort of player we need to keep the wingers on their toes... not to mention the frightening thought of

By run and beat I meant with trickery/skill as opposed to knocking the ball past and running as per Dyer's usual style. I count Dyer as an out and out winger rather than an all round attacking player too. Not a dig at Dyer or anybody. I would agree dyer was more effective in his role. But he never really beat a man with skill. Hence my point stands. Unless Gallagher/another stood out for you?

Don't even think about signing him, Pearson. Not Premier standard.

Have you watched him play since he left us 6 years ago?

Agree with all of that, especially the last bit. Top post.

He definitely would suit our style more nowadays. Is take him back don't see it happening though. If he does like the club then he'd fit the bill of having a point to prove, more to Pearson than anyone else.
