MC Prussian Posted 29 May 2014 Share Posted 29 May 2014 They'll get those parachute payments remember as well though. Stupid really, it must be the only thing in the World where you're rewarded for failure. I take it you don't know anything about the banking sector. But that's a different chapter in a different story.

Happy Fox Posted 30 May 2014 Share Posted 30 May 2014 Not a bad statement. NEWS STATEMENT: BRIAN MCDERMOTTClub announcement regarding Brian McDermott... PUBLISHED 30 MAY 2014 AT 11:00 98 1415 BRIAN MCDERMOTT Brian McDermott and Leeds United have announced their mutual decision for the Leeds United manager to depart from his position. Leeds owner Massimo Cellino stated: "Brian is a great manager and a great guy. He has been unfortunate to work in such difficult circumstances. I did not fully understand the mess he had to work in, and the broken promises he had to deal with, until I have got involved trying to turn Leeds around. "He has been a gentleman to deal with in our discussions and has been very understanding of my wish to implement a new structure. His main concern and priority at all times has been the welfare and protection of Leeds United. I wish him well for the future where I am sure he will continue to have more success and thank him for his efforts in being a stabilising and unifying figure behind the scenes in very difficult circumstances. "His honest efforts to guide us to the safety of mid-table when faced with many difficulties is appreciated by us all. He will always be a friend of Leeds United." Brian McDermott stated: "It has been my great privilege to manage this great club and I have enjoyed the challenge immensely. "However it is clear that Massimo wishes to implement a new structure and feels he will work more successfully for Leeds with a coach rather than a manager. I respect that Massimo must be fully supported in putting together his vision for the club so he can bring us the success we all want. It is my belief that when truly United we are stronger. Massimo wants to bring a new energy to the club so that we can return to where we belong as a healthy football club. "To my players for their efforts I say a big thank-you. To all the staff and especially my great assistant manager Nigel Gibbs and my great friend Patrick Dolan I am especially grateful for their support. "Finally to the incredible force that is the Leeds United supporters, I offer my heartfelt thanks. Your support of me and the players was always an inspiration and I urge everyone to get behind the team and the new owner next season to get us back to where we need to be, fighting for trophies and competing at the top-table of English and European football. "It won't be easy, but Marching On Together we can get there. "I wish Massimo and all my friends at Elland Road every success in the future." - See more at: http://www.leedsunited.com/news/article/x69b36i7vub1f2vvdg30v72t/title/statement-brian-mcdermott#sthash.JIcgTbtX.dpuf

Unabomber Posted 30 May 2014 Share Posted 30 May 2014 Love the start of Cellino's wiki entry "Massimo Cellino (28 July 1956) is an Italian entrepreneur, football club owner, and convicted fraudster" Perfect for Leeds.
MC Prussian Posted 31 May 2014 Share Posted 31 May 2014 I study IT, I listen to music and follow football. Of course I know nothing about banking. Better leave it that way, or else you'd be in a for a few shockers in your working life. Good choice with the IT bit, certainly more helpful in today's world than other jobs. In other Championship news, Matt Derbyshire continues with his gun for hire approach, as he's just signed for Rotherham.
Steve_Walsh5 Posted 31 May 2014 Share Posted 31 May 2014 Not a bad signing that for Rotherham if he can stay fit. He did quite well towards the end of the season with Forest.
BHAFC Braders Posted 31 May 2014 Share Posted 31 May 2014 Really tough league this year , be amazing if we can push for the play offs again but have a feeling that with the player and manager situation it could be closer to a mid table affair
J.Lisemore Posted 31 May 2014 Share Posted 31 May 2014 Will probably be Benito Carbone that takes over at Leeds, didn't Cellino give him a job upstairs?

May keep my head down for a few days after this Honestly for us to have a glimmer of hope next season we'll need him on top form mind.
