Matt Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 Diosgyor have confirmed they would like to keep Leicester City forward Marko Futacs following a successful season on loan, but admit it will be difficult to finalise a deal. Futacs was loaned out to the Hungarian club last summer on a year-long loan and it remains to be seen whether he will be a part of Nigel Pearson's plans for the next Premier League season following Leicester's promotion. Ferencvaros have also been linked with a move for the 24-year-old, who made his senior international debut for Hungary in March, but Diosgyor sporting director Zoltan Kovacs is hopeful they can win the competition for his signature. "Marko Futacs had an excellent season at our team, he scored eight goals and has been a role model on and off the pitch as well, " Kovacs told Sport2 Television in Hungary. "Unfortunately we don't have an option to buy him permanently and his release fee is 100 million forints (£265,000). "I don't want to praise him more as then Ferencvaros would think he'd be a really good buy for them. "But honestly, it was a very good decision to get him on loan. It won't be an easy job if we want to keep him." Sky Sports - http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/9317983/transfer-news-leicesters-marko-futacs-wanted-back-in-hungary-by-diosgyor Big loss if true, will need replacing, not sure there is anyone to fill the hole that will be left in our squad though. For the record I believe he will 'be a part of Nigel Pearson's plans for the next Premier League season following Leicester's promotion'
Fox92 Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 This is not a laughing matter. He seriously scored loads of goals for me on FM.
Adster Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 If Pearson can't persuade our big-name players to stay, then he has to go i'm afraid.
NeilLCFC Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 I'd be more upset at him leaving then Pearson leaving. Don't get me wrong I do value the job Nige has done for us but he could never match what Futacs has done for this club.
Jace Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 If we can offer Kasper £40,000 a week to keep him why can't we do the same to keep Marko?
stevelcfc Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 Please Nige, you and Terry need to pull out all the stops to keep him here. We can't lose Taft, Futacs, Crncic and Lamey all in the past 3 years, at this rate our club will be nothing but a laughing stock! Just hope we can all pull together and support the weaklings that remain.
Brainy Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 Just think of those poor Hungarians coming on this forum to check out what we think of him, and reading this
Sharpe's Fox Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 If will sell our talismanic striker Futacs I personally will be off to support Cov.
stevelcfc Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 If will sell our talismanic striker Futacs I personally will be off to support Cov. Easier to support Northampton tbh, then you can go to home games.
MrSpaM Posted 20 May 2014 Posted 20 May 2014 Should deffo sell Vardy and Nugent and give Futacs 70k a week
GLC Posted 20 May 2014 Posted 20 May 2014 It's always been said, Pearson can't handle "Big named players" Don't go Marco!
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 20 May 2014 Posted 20 May 2014 Why would we let him go when we can finally offer him the Premiership football that he came here for? I can understand him not being prepared to play Championship football but surely he'll grace The Prem with us now...
lcfcbobby Posted 22 May 2014 Posted 22 May 2014 he is a good player I think he will end up staying at Leicester he went out on loan last season and did great fair enough it was the Hungarian league but I think he could be used as a target man in premier league don't think he will start but could be a useful sub all this season we have struggled to score goals from corners and free kicks think he could be useful addition to our premier league 25man squad

martyn Posted 22 May 2014 Posted 22 May 2014 Don't think I've ever seen him jump, let alone win a header. This thread is about Futacs, not Chris Wood...

lgfualol Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 Contract cancelled. Gutted. Veey surprised, thought Pearson would have had him in the starting lineup next season.
Tielemans63 Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 Why are we looking to sign a multi million pound target man when we already had Futacs in the squad? He could've been the answer but was never given enough opportunity. Pearsons head should roll for this.
