Captain... Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 Gerrard, will play every game, always scores for England and takes the penalties (I think), he will score at least one, and that could be enough to be our top scorer...
RowlattsFox Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 Rooney. He'll probably score a hat trick against Costa Rica when we're already out after being shite for the first 2 games.
LCFC31 Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 Whoever voted for Welbeck is either joking or clinically insane.
Grandad. Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 Think Rooney is on penalties, not too sure though. I've gone for Sterling. May end my month free of gambling the eve of the World Cup and stick a tenner on him.
Fox92 Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 Stevie! My money's on Sturridge struggling to get one goal.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 Who's voted for Rooney? lol You can't score many if you're back in defence
DennisNedry Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 Sturridge was electric for Liverpool last season but he's never shown anything similar with England, so I wouldn't have the same confidence that the vote suggests.
xHamzah Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 Welbeck for me, Sturridge doesn't look the same without Suarez and Rooney is often dropping deep.
Jiggers the Fox Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 Got a feeling Rooney will turn up to this tournament. He's got to at some point hasn't he?
Grandad. Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 Seems to be a bit of a myth starting here about Rooney and Sturridge, only played together 6 times for England and they have 5 goals between them..
Fox92 Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 Sturridge is a decent player, he's had a great season for Liverpool and whenever I watch Liverpool on the tv I think Sturridge might score in the game. I just don't carry that same confidence when he plays for England. He might surprise me, lets hope he does, but I'm not expecting it.
Stadt Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 My suggestion of Barkley/Lallana is a bit out there but I can see somebody who isn't expected to score many getting 2/3 goals
Ric Flair Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 Sturridge is a decent player, he's had a great season for Liverpool and whenever I watch Liverpool on the tv I think Sturridge might score in the game. I just don't carry that same confidence when he plays for England. He might surprise me, lets hope he does, but I'm not expecting it. He's yet to hit the same heights with England but it's coming. Needs to relax and not be too eager to grab the headlines and he'll be quality. I'd love it if it was Rooney and with more than a token couple of goals. How good would it finally be for him to announce it on the world stage " the big man is back "
Danno Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 Whoever voted for Welbeck is either joking or clinically insane.Yeah I forgot Welbeck was a striker, obviously he cannot score goals can he.
Jimothy Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 Yeah I forgot Welbeck was a striker, obviously he cannot score goals can he. That's exactly what he is, a striker who can't score goals.
Charl91 Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 Sturridge was electric for Liverpool last season but he's never shown anything similar with England, so I wouldn't have the same confidence that the vote suggests. Haha, whereas Rooney has always shown fantastic form for the national team.
Jimothy Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 Sturridge has 11 caps of which he's started 6, I think it's a bit early for people to be stating he's never done it for England. Especially when at times in those 11 games he's been shoved out wide. I think now he's more settled in the squad, played in his favoured position and he is confident, we'll see Sturridge really become a big part of the team.
