Carl the Llama Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Valencia has every right to be pissed off with that kind of challenge in a friendly a week before the world cup. Stupid from Stirling. I fully agree with this. Â Both definite reds all day long - referees seldom have easier calls to make.
Haydos Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 I fully agree with this. Â Both definite reds all day long - referees seldom have easier calls to make. Â Are you actually joking? Â What for? It's controlled, he takes ball and barely any man, it's not that hard, it's one footed. Â I have zero idea as to how this fits the criteria for a red.
Vacamion Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 If Sterling tackles an Italian like that, the Eyetie will still be rolling around 25 minutes later...
foxfanazer Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Never a red but as othere have said, Valencia had every right to be upset under the circumstances. Not that upset though!

You can say all you like about his intentions, but that's still a red card all day long.
RowlattsFox Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Not a red but no need to make a challenge like it. The ref had a good poker face, didn't see the reds coming.
lavrentis Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Is it just me who likes Andy Townsend? Â Not even that bad as a commentator The main one is awful
Unabomber Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Is it just me who likes Andy Townsend? Â Not even that bad as a commentator The main one is awful Holy shit yes it is.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Not a red but this isn't the PL, this is what refereeing is going to be like at the WC... any sign of a dangerous challenge and a red is given... Is it just me who likes Andy Townsend? Not even that bad as a commentator The main one is awful Yes
Haydos Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 By the criteria of both feet leaving the ground and him subsequently ploughing through the legs of his opponent.  You can say all you like about his intentions, but that's still a red card all day long.  No it's not. And two feet didn't leave the ground, I'm not sure what you are looking at but you're wrong.    Those are the two frames following the one I already posted. None of these show a two footed tackle or more than one foot leaving the ground.  It's a slide tackle. I'm sticking by saying it shouldn't have even been a free kick, let alone a card.
MooseBreath Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Is it just me who likes Andy Townsend? Not even that bad as a commentator The main one is awful I think he's pretty harmless and itv had had much worse over the years. Ron Atkinson anyone.

Pretty much tells you that it was never ever a red, now can he play in the next warm up.. if not we should bloody appeal
Tielemans63 Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 James Milner surprised me. I was surprised that he was even worse when moved to right mid than he was as the world's least convincing right back.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 James Milner surprised me. I was surprised that he was even worse when moved to right mid than he was as the world's least convincing right back. Let's say he was just shite! hopefully he doesn't step a foot on a field in Brazil...
Guest ttfn Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 No it's not. And two feet didn't leave the ground, I'm not sure what you are looking at but you're wrong. The reverse angle shows a pretty nasty scissor tackle.
Bert Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Or since Ox went off?In the whole two minutes before you mean?
foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 In the whole two minutes before you mean? Rooney is important, he is a selfless player which for me he doesn't get much credit for.. he should certainly start against Italy
Haydos Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 The stills are bullshit, the video shows that he's not in control, there's no "planting" of the leg. The reverse angle shows a pretty nasty scissor tackle. Â Yes there is, it's RIGHT HERE. Â
Tielemans63 Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Looking forward to watching the ITV documentary on Ryan Giggs incredible managerial career.
