Pride_Of_The_Midlands Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Hodgson has confirmed that Jones and Oxlade-Chamberlain will both start. Jagielka and Rooney need minutes. I'd go Foster Jones Smalling Jagielka Shaw Lampard Wilshere Chamberlain Barkley Sterling Rooney
Fox in the North Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Replace Rooney with Sturridge and I wouldn't mind that team. Ecuador are a decent team though; they finished ahead of Uruguay and gave the others plenty to think about. If Felipe Caecido is fit, then he'll be a definite handful. I'll go for 2-1 England sterling and Rooney goal scorers.
Guest MattP Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Ecuador aren't anywhere near as goos as their record looks, they won every game apart from one at home (high altitude) and lost every single one away. That pretty much sums them up.
Fosse93 Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Silly question but what time does this kick off UK time?
NGoloMode Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Silly question but what time does this kick off UK time? 8pm

GingerrrFox Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 I reckon some changes should be made here. I would go for something like. Hart Milner, Cahill, Smalling, Baines Lampard, Wilshere Sterling, Barkley, Lallana Lambert
Sharpe's Fox Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 I would stick with Rooney and Sturridge up front. Barring injury that is what we will most probably be lining up with so we might as well give them the minutes together they need.
Bert Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 I reckon Hart Jones Jagielka Cahill Baines Gerrard Barkley Ox Rooney Lallana Sturridge One thing we don't want to be messing with this close to a tournament is the central defensive pairing. If that's going to be the first choice, which is likely then let's get them as used to playing together as much as possible. Barkley deserves a start to show what he can do. As much people won't like it, Rooney is a shoe in to start, so along with Gerrard and Sturridge (2 other shoe ins) we should keep them playing as well. Personally think there's only one spot left for grabs and that's between Sterling/Welbeck/Ox. Would prefer to see Sterling start but we all know Roy has a thing for Welbeck.
Danno Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Hart Jones Cahill Jagielka Baines Henderson Gerrard Sterling Barkley Ox Sturridge
Grandad. Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 I would play all the fringe players for this one and then play a more experienced/the starting eleven for Italy on Saturday.. Foster F Smalling -- Cahill -- Jagielka -- Shaw Lampard -- Wilshire Sterling -- Barkley -- Oxlade Chamberlain Lambert Fully understand the starting eleven will look nothing like that but that is what I would go with.
Babylon Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 All the years when Rooney was half decent he'd get injured or sent off... now he's wank the bloke is constantly around to get picked.
ScouseFox Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 We need Rooney to play with sturridge in this formation in the warm ups. Whether that's to grow as a pair and understanding or to confirm it'll never work I don't know but it needs to be stuck with in practice.

Fox92 Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 "Ecuador have an advantage, our league is broadcast all over the World. The only time we deal with South American sides is in the World Cup". Is Hodgson having a laugh? Seriously, fvck me.

Is Hodgson having a laugh? Seriously, fvck me. To be fair he's probably been constantly asked about Ecuador every hour, so he's bound to give daft answers at some point.
GingerrrFox Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 Roy confirms he's making changes. I wouldn't be surprised if there's as many as 6 or 7.

Is Hodgson having a laugh? Seriously, fvck me. Read the full interview and see what question Roy was answering before you post shite! Your little vendetta against him is a tad boring! Zzzzz
Corky Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 "Ecuador have an advantage, our league is broadcast all over the World. The only time we deal with South American sides is in the World Cup". Is Hodgson having a laugh? Seriously, fvck me. Isn't that quite true? The Premier League is broadcast all over the world, it's not quite so simple to watch domestic Ecuadorian football. As long as he knows their first team and squad, that's all that matters, not who has won most Ecuadorian cups.
lgfualol Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 Kasper, I mean Hart Jonesy cahill jagielka baines gerrard wilshire Lalana. Barkley Sterling Sturidge I think having a few couples from one team will help
Bakey Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 From the telegraphs sports columnist. @henrywinter: In training, #eng were Foster; Milner, Smalling, Jones, Shaw; Lampard, Wilshere; Oxlade-Chamberlain, Barkley, Rooney; Lambert. Possibly playing 4-2-3-1 Id like to see rooney rested and sterling bought in. But if this is the starting line up tomorrow I think milner will do well at right back and hopefully do well enough to oust johnson for the actual wc games.
Dan Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 Milner at right back. Fair play if he does that. That's got to be worth a try. Rooney on the left?
