Stadt Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Pearls of wisdom from my mum who's sat reading the paper: 'That Roy Hattersley has a lot of work of work to do with this lot.' Roy Hattersley? Is your mum itv?
Tielemans63 Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Or since Ox went off? That's what I was going to say, it was almost the second Ox went off.
Webbo Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Shame we only drew, we were controlling the game until the subs. Good work out though.
foxfanazer Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Can safely say that none of the back four that started tonight will start against Italy
Tielemans63 Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Is your mum itv? No but she has done a lot of work with Andy Townsend.
Haydos Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Nah, not having it. NEVER a red. Ball is there to be won, he doesn't even really leave the ground.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Good game, very makeshift side but I see some very good stuff... going forward we look threatening something that we haven't been in years, but defensively fragile. Now I know that team certainly will not start against Italy not even close but that backline still is a worry, tighter in the second half though but still not were it needs to be.
Tielemans63 Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Can safely say that none of the back four that started tonight will start against Italy Agreed. Thought Jones played well in the second though.
lgfualol Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Nah, not having it. NEVER a red. Credit to Sterling for not falling down and rolling around for 10 minutes
Unabomber Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Sterling was not in control of his challenge, was very wreckless, deserved to go Nah he was in full control.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Shame we only drew, we were controlling the game until the subs. Good work out though. I never look at scoreline a in friendlies especially when you have a team out there that will certainly not start together . Just best to analyse individuals and small partnerships, that defence is certainly not going to be close to our back four though
Unabomber Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 That gif, the speed in which Valencia appears with his hands round our boys throat, forget the red man should be locked up.
The Doctor Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Decent performance going forward, Ox in particular was a bright spark. That defence is beyond woeful though, stick that front 6 (with Lambert replaced by Sturridge) with 3 of the back 4 from Friday, + someone with a right peg to replace Johnson, and it's not a shabby team. It will no doubt be Welbeck and Milner on the wings and Johnson at right back, leading to dour play going forward and shoddy defending.
ScouseFox Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 sterling's facial reaction when valencia grabs him by the neck hahaha. u wot m888
Corky Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 So, crap defence, great going forward. Seems like we might go out in a 4-3 rather than penalties after a 0-0.
Nalis Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Watching Smalling on the ball is like watching your girlfriend trying to play FIFA.
MooseBreath Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Valencia has every right to be pissed off with that kind of challenge in a friendly a week before the world cup. Stupid from Stirling.
Ric Flair Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Praying The Ox is fit for next Friday, he's the big game player. Fearless. Barkley in fine fettle too and Raheem will turn up, all shit hot right now. So many options. Smalling stay away please.
Haydos Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Here's a still as well (I know they're not that reliable but if you follow the link to this gif you can pause and rewind) http://gfycat.com/ImpassionedLargeBluemorphobutterfly He actually controls it really well placing his left foot down to slow himself and time the tackle well.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 So, crap defence, great going forward. Seems like we might go out in a 4-3 rather than penalties after a 0-0. I say better to be entertaining then rubbish and anti football like we were before. I would be pleased with the team if we go for it

Tielemans63 Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Really hope Ox is okay, he was really bright tonight.
ScouseFox Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 woah shit i had no idea the ox was actually injured, i went for a piss an just thought he'd been subbed but now he's injured forever wtf
