Donut Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 I can fully understand why Valencia reacted like he did, it was a ridiculous boneheaded challenge by Sterling that could have put Valencia out of the world cup if it had connected and it was a warmup game. It was in a nothing area of the pitch on the touchline on Valencia's blindside. Sterling was a twat.
kingfox Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Smalling's positioning is a bloody joke, he moves like the bloody Tin Man. Wilshere is a bloody puff, weak shit. Not much to shout about tonight, liked the look of Barkley at times, Milner I thought did alright especially second half. But as a whole, England are still very boring to watch.
xHamzah Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 It's never a red for Sterling but reaction from Valencia makes slight sense now (Still unjustified). Also, I think I'm the only one saying that the abuse throughout the game for Jones, Smalling & Milner makes no sense. In my opinion, If anyone should be criticised it's Roy Hodgson.

Barkley was great so was the Ox, I don't know how you get the term boring from that game Italy drew one one with Luxembourg has warm ups with makeshift a sides are everything that means we should battered Italy!
Leicesterpool Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 2-2 good game really, certainly a good test for the lads. Plenty of positives mainly from our youngsters Ox was simply amazing do hope he's okay, Barkley looked great. Other positives was both strikers scored super one from Lambert, plus Rooney gets on the score sheet, Our attacking threat looked quite decent. Right negatives... Wiltshire was poor once again spent most of the match on the ground, defending woeful again, Foster had a bit of a stinker they didn't really test him but he still somehow picked the ball out of the net twice, Lampard seriously looked out of place and unfit. Ox going on off looks scary as i said hope he's okay, James Milner at right back doesn't like to be working. The sending off, dearie me why was Sterling sent off? yes he went in a bit late but really a sending off? Valencia was the one who grabbed him by the neck, okay he was sent off too but the idea of Sterling being sent off for violent conduct aswell is just not fare.
Carl the Llama Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Yes there is, it's RIGHT HERE. And as you so kindly captured for us, the moment his legs close in on Valencia's right in an out of control scissor movement, or, if you insist he had control, an intentional scissor movement:
Nalis Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 I think he's pretty harmless and itv had had much worse over the years. Ron Atkinson anyone. I actually think Big Ron and Townsend were alright. David Pleat was awful though.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 I thought that we looked bloody good going forward. Barkley is a revelation in midfield. How we can play him Llanna (sp ) Ox and Gerrard is anybodys guess but Barkley is so raw its fantastic to watch. Positive result against a team quick on the counter
Leicesterpool Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Just a shame Micah Richards hadn't been given more game time for Man City he would have solved the right back problem.
Unabomber Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Just a shame Micah Richards hadn't been given more game time for Man City he would have solved the right back problem. He wouldn't.
Haydos Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 And as you so kindly captured for us, the moment his legs close in on Valencia's right in an out of control scissor movement, or, if you insist he had control, an intentional scissor movement: A scissor tackle? Is that a thing that's actually against the laws? Or are you just making things up as you go along? Earlier you were saying it was two-footed, then that he was off the ground. Now I've shown you it's neither of these things he's doing an illegal scissor tackle?
foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Milner was terrible, now when you are wishing for Johnson to start against Italy, that just tells you how desparate we are in that position... it is a weak point and doesn't install confidence in the rest of the back line!
Leicesterpool Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 With the Houndras game next, I can imagine Woy may start the same XI that will likely face Italy. So for me.. GK: Hart RB: Johnson CB: Cahill CB: Jagielka LB: Baines CM: Gerrard CM: Henderson RW: Oxlade-Chamberlain AM: Barkley LW: Sterling AT: Sturridge

That should certainly start against Italy

Earlier you were saying it was two-footed, then that he was off the ground. Now I've shown you it's neither of these things he's doing an illegal scissor tackle? When it requires both feet to leave the ground yes, it is an illegal tackle (you've shown me nothing to prove that they don't, the moving images by contrast show that they do), and one where he slices through the player in a scissor motion to boot. I think this is something we'll have to agree to disagree on because you think I'm wrong and I think you're having difficulty taking off the tinted specs.

Stadt Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 I hope Johnson picks up a mystery injury so Flanagan gets called up
Corky Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akK9RSFH7kc Thought I'd seen Lambert's goal somewhere before...
Guest Col city fan Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Genuinely hope that young Oxlade ain't badly injured. Very important player for us. Wilshere clearly isn't fit.

JJS84 Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 World Cup 2014: England's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to have scan http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27708705
Kitchandro Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Ecuador player clearly went for him. He needs banning from the world cup if Oxlade-Chamberlain is out.
