ElusiveEd Posted 6 June 2014 Posted 6 June 2014 Says he wants to stay in the Prem. Seems an odd decision to me but guess he has his reasons although all a bit suspect to me. Couldn't get my head around them wanting him in the first place. Maybe his dad (Who I think played for Inter???) pulled a few strings to pretend they were actually wanting him just to increase interest, his profile and not to mention PRICE TAG! Cynical? Moi? Yep! Would anyone like him here? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2650820/Tom-Ince-wants-stay-Premier-League-rejecting-Inter-Milan.html
Fox92 Posted 6 June 2014 Posted 6 June 2014 Wonder if that's genuine, two contracts turned down. Seems odd if true but you never know the reasons behind it.
RobHawk Posted 6 June 2014 Posted 6 June 2014 Not as good as he or his dad think he is! Don't get me wrong he's not awful but he didn't exactly set the league on fire at Palace! Just another player the press decided to big up when realistically, he stood out in a very poor Blackpool side!
AKCJ Posted 6 June 2014 Posted 6 June 2014 Wouldn't want him. Would be an upgrade on Knockaert but I wouldn't want to spend the money to make that upgrade. We've more important issues to address.
Guest Col city fan Posted 6 June 2014 Posted 6 June 2014 He must be mad! I'd LOVE to live in Milan and to play for Inter (or AC).
Banks Posted 6 June 2014 Posted 6 June 2014 Unbelievable to turn down an opportunity like that down. Especially when the best English clubs he'll get will be Stoke/Palace/Hull...
Stadt Posted 6 June 2014 Posted 6 June 2014 Not everybody like living abroad - he just might not fancy it.
65RosesFox Posted 6 June 2014 Posted 6 June 2014 The racist issue over there may have played a key factor.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 6 June 2014 Posted 6 June 2014 For me it is odd, fair enough serie a isn't the league it was, but he would have been playing for one of the world most recognisable sides, this is what I hate about English players.. Happy to take the easy big wage and sit on their ass

I know they aren't quite the powerhouse they were but come on.He might have done , if he showed what he can do... why else would they be interested, he would have had to work for it of course. He will earn more sitting on his ass at a mid table prem team, and be loaded doing so... rather than actually try to make an impact like a player of his ability should
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 7 June 2014 Posted 7 June 2014 He might have done , if he showed what he can do... why else would they be interested, he would have had to work for it of course. How can you say he's "happy to take the easy wage and sit on his ass" when you're speaking theoretically? You can't apply different logic to Inter just because they're a foreign side.

You can't apply different logic to Inter just because they're a foreign side. Well if you look at the earnings of the top leagues nowadays you will see that even an average prem team is earning more than most in europe. Prem players are paid better than any in the world, an average player can be on 60-70 thousand a week now...
Xen Posted 7 June 2014 Posted 7 June 2014 Not everybody like living abroad - he just might not fancy it. This. I'd hate having to move abroad, especially if you don't speak the language, so I can definitely sympathise. If it was purely a footballing decision, then it might be different (we don't know if he'd be in their XI or not), but football players are people as well and have personal reasons for doing/not doing something.
Banks Posted 7 June 2014 Posted 7 June 2014 Shows no ambition if you wanna turn down the chance to move to Italy so you can stay in England...
Ric Flair Posted 7 June 2014 Posted 7 June 2014 He's turned down several clubs in the last few seasons, he blatantly thinks he's better than he is. He's very good at Championship level but he has it all to prove at a higher level.
Nalis Posted 7 June 2014 Posted 7 June 2014 He must be mad! I'd LOVE to live in Milan and to play for Inter (or AC). Bit off topic but Milan is one of the most disappointing cities I have ever been to. Most of it is a shithole though Duomo is nice.
Grandad. Posted 7 June 2014 Posted 7 June 2014 Daft lad. Hope Rodgers doesn't get sucked into resigning him.
MC Prussian Posted 7 June 2014 Posted 7 June 2014 Shows no ambition if you wanna turn down the chance to move to Italy so you can stay in England... Maybe he simply sees more chances staying in the UK and playing for a Premier League side. Family, language issues, wages, comfort, etc. all play a part in this game.
MooseBreath Posted 7 June 2014 Posted 7 June 2014 Well if you look at the earnings of the top leagues nowadays you will see that even an average prem team is earning more than most in europe. Prem players are paid better than any in the world, an average player can be on 60-70 thousand a week now... I'm sure he would have got a pay rise going to Inter, where he would have spent most of his time on the bench. So what you're saying doesn't make much sense to me. By turning them down he's accepting lower pay in order to play more.

johnny the fox Posted 7 June 2014 Posted 7 June 2014 moving from Blackpool was always going to be a step down..
Banks Posted 7 June 2014 Posted 7 June 2014 To go from Blackpool, one of the biggest shitholes in England to potentially moving to one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Plus family/racism/culture/language barrier were probably reasons why he chose to turn the chance down but still, think it's a dreadful decision.
