Nalis Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 GOOD LUCK. I fancied Holland but didn't have a clue about how Chile would do. Cheers but I had Portugal to finish above Germany. Not going to happen.
lgfualol Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Glad they got knocked out. Karma for nicking my daughter's holiday money last week. The spain team took her money?
foxes_rule1978 Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 What's the difference between Spain and a tea bag? A tea bag stays in the cup longer!
Kitchandro Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 That free kick for the second goal was bread and butter for a Sunday league keeper. What on earth was he doing? He's always been a bit like that. Punches too often, struggles with crosses, tackles with his feet too often instead of being a man and diving in with your hands like a goalkeeper is supposed to. Typical foreign keeper really. Of course he's been a very good goalkeeper, but these weaknesses are strangely overlooked by this BBC panel calling him one of the greatest ever. He couldn't hold a candle to Buffon.

Shame.

He couldn't hold a candle to Buffon. tbf I usually laugh at most the stupid shit you say but I can't really ever remember thinking "wow he's good" about Casillas. yeah he's played loads of times for Spain and loads of times for real but so what. champs league final and both World Cup games he's made ridiculous errors that I'd be volleying our Sunday league keeper about. him trying to get the ball off Robben on Friday is gonna be a highlight of this World Cup for me. like when a kid dropped a quid in the playground and everyone used to just volley it away from him as he scampered after it on all fours. Pathetic.
ScouseFox Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 just got back from the pub watching this with about 30 spanish people it was great they were all so upset. love watching the little bellends lose. diego costa must be devv'd.
Unabomber Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 What does the comment "typical foreign keeper" mean?It means "I'm an ignorant slut"
Beliall Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 What does the comment "typical foreign keeper" mean? Acrobatic liability
Carl the Llama Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Recently you've become the gift that just keeps on giving. I take it you didn't have the privilege of watching Buffon in his prime. Not that he could hold a candle to Kasper's dad.
Donut Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Hmm, Buffon obviously isnt your "typical foreign keeper" then. Despite being foreign.

There's no doubting Buffon's an absolutely outstanding keeper but to say 'Casillas couldn't hold a candle to him' is an outrageous claim. Both are ridiculously good.

ScouseFox Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Yeah but "typical foreign keeper" lol Our keepers Danish for a start off yeah no idea what typical foreign keepers have ever done to kitch but i agree with him about casillas. overrated. 3 huge games in the past month and he's made errors you'd be ashamed if conrad made in all 3.

Both are ridiculously good. Perhaps as turns of phrase go it's a bit hyperbolic, but I would hope that most recognise that Buffon in his heyday was a class above, rivalling even Van der Saar. For me Casillas has always been one of the upper echelon, but in my opinion is more on Seaman's level.

Let's all hope for the sake of goalkeepers born outside of the UK that he doesn't Kitchbox their arses.

I personally rate Casillas right up there, not many can contend with his medal haul.

I personally rate Casillas right up there, not many can contend with his medal haul. yeah his medal count is sensational but how many times has he actually majorly contributed to a spain or madrid competition win? maybe i just don't watch him enough or appreciate goalkeeping enough but to me spain/madrid have won things with him in the team rather than him winning things for spain or madrid. he's a pretty good keeper but he's not up there as one of the greats imo, the only reason people say he is is because he's got so many caps and appearances, he's never done anything particularly special in any of them
