StanSP Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Must win for Spain? This group can be sealed today if Netherlands and Chile win. Not the first time the holders have gone out in the group stage of the next World Cup!
Grandad. Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Will have happened in three of the last four World Cups wouldn't it? France 2002, Italy 2010 and potentially Spain 2014. Crazy! Still think Spain will win 2-0, wouldn't play Costa if I was the Spain gaffer.
David Guiza Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 I fancy 2-1 Chile, although I wouldn't be surprised by a reaction from Spain.
Ric Flair Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Has any team ever been hammered in the group stages and still gone on to do well? I can't believe the manner of their defeat and I can't believe that they are suddenly a busted flush now but it only takes one more poor performance tonight and they are going home. I think they'll scrape through though.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 We're all Chile, aren't we? I'll be surprised if Spain lose this, though.

Italy won the World Cup in 1982 and never won a group game, 3 draws.
MooseBreath Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Absorootly buzzin for another espainia defeat here. Come on you chilli dogs woot wppt woot
kingfox Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Spain need to make a statement, but the way they played against Holland, not just the result, but the system they played didn't suit them at all, Diego Costa as awful. Chile are more than capable as we all know, and it wouldn't surprise me if they win this, or at least get a point. Will definitely be an interesting watch, whatever happens.
Manwell Pablo Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Even a draw put's Spain in trouble, Chile hold a +6 goal difference over them. Infact even if they win this and beat Australia there's a reasonable chance they could go out on six points due to the damage the Dutch have done to their goal difference.
foxfanazer Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 If this Holland and Aussie game finishes as a draw then Chile will only need a draw to qualify
AKCJ Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Can't see anything past a Spain win. Not because Chile are a bad side, but because Spain just have to win this one and they've got the experience to do it.
RowlattsFox Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Not expecting anything different from Spain. Normal service to resume.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 I have money on, 2-2... 3-1 Spain and 2-1 chile
