Jimothy Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Man United - no pace, in decline Barcelona - no pace (well no one who you'd say is lightning quick, bar a couple), in decline Spain - no pace, in decline. Pattern? Leicester - Pace in a abundance! On the rise.
Haydos Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 What has happend to casilles? Has he always been over rated and just been lucky to play behind a good side for a long time? No match fitness, confidence shot, nerves at having to re-establish himself, finding himself second choice for the first time in his career. He didn't look sharp and he constantly looks like he's second guessing himself at the moment. His shot stopping is always going to be fantastic but his judgement and decision making is going to be heavily scrutinized now.
RowlattsFox Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Looks to me like the long tough season for the barca and Madrid players have taken its toll. No energy whatsoever.
theessexfox Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Leicester - Pace in a abundance! On the rise. Exactly! As well as Liverpool and Madrid to name just two.
Tielemans63 Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Spain would have been better off picking their B team. Seriously. Don't write them off yet though.
StanSP Posted 18 June 2014 Author Posted 18 June 2014 Punched it down the middle. Punching it straight into the box, rather than to the side or catching it? Had in my head that he dived rather than punched it out. My bad. Defence didn't react to the punch out either. Typifies the Spanish team - second best to everything.
MooseBreath Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Spain are on the ropes. Set up for a block rocking 2nd half now.
The Doctor Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 This is hilarious. Serves Diego Costa right, the treacherous cuntpuffin.
bovril Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Alonso is having a nightmare. Mourinho knew what he was doing dropping Casillas.
Guest kristianity77 Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 That free kick for the second goal was bread and butter for a Sunday league keeper. What on earth was he doing?
shen Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Chile are red hot and Spain have really been rocked by that second half against Spain. All confidence just sapped out of them.
Stadt Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 If Spain are to play Costa they need to play Koke, he just doesn't fit Spain's style, Negredo and Llorente are similar players but they contribute to the build up plus more whereas Costa just loiters.
The Doctor Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Alonso is having a nightmare. Mourinho knew what he was doing dropping Casillas. Except of course, he didn't drop Casillas, Casillas got injured in January of Joses final season there and Mourinho didn't bring him straight back in after he recovered. Besides, Mourinho rates him highly - http://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/latest/mourinho-gives-backing-to-under-fire-iker-casillas-1-3448308

I want to make sweeping, incorrect statements sitting on the sofa without the likes of you spoiling it.
The Doctor Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 **** you and your facts. I want to make sweeping, incorrect statements sitting on the sofa without the likes of you spoiling it. Have you considered applying to be a pundit on ITV?
Vacamion Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 An early Spain goal and we have a corker of a match on.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 De Gea must be (in a selfish way, anyway) smiling inside on the bench.
bovril Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Have you considered applying to be a pundit on ITV? I applied but they said with my English degree I was overqualified.
kingfox Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 My word Spain are awful, Casillas & Costa have been woeful this tournament, Alonso having a shocker tonight. Chile working hard though, both goalscorers have played well, especially Vargas his work off the ball has been tremendous. What a World Cup this is
Stadt Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 De Gea must be (in a selfish way, anyway) smiling inside on the bench. He's injured mate
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 He's injured mate He'll still be on the bench and smiling about the prospect of being Spains number 1 at Euro 2016.
