Troy Deeney

The fact is..he is 26, he needs to be thinking about premiership now..and we all know there is  no point in trying to hang on to a player when his head as been turned.

I suppose its down to his ambition and his agents greed,to what happens next.

He has stated recently that he is very happy at Watford but if the club want to sell he would listen to offers. He knows his chance of the perm will come soon enough.

I'd be very surprised if he forced a move. We signed him as a winger from Walsall and stuck by him through his jail time. I reckon he will stay quiet knowing that there is a bit of a bidding war going on for him, and that at least one club will offer over our valuation.

This

its the reason why watford wont get a stupid fee, like fulham paid for McCormack. if he wants prem football, he'll tell the board, and what is the point of keeping a player that doesn't want to be there, just like brighton they will negotiate.

I would not be too bothered if we had to use King as leverage to sign Deeney.

I'm inclined to agree but again, we desperately need more midfielders on board if we do.

I don't think this is going to happen with Deeney.

you couldn't be more wrong i'm afraid.

I remember thinking this about some of our players 10 years ago..

well we'll see on both counts, if we're serious in getting him, and if he is going to try and help a move happen.

personally i think he'd be a good signing

as I've previously said we'll see, and i could be more right than you'd like to think i am.

so troy has come out and said he's happy where he is, honestly would you expect anything else?

unless any of us are troy, his agent, the watford board, and maybe the manager, I suspect none of us know what is going on, how he truly feels and how this is going to play out.

I thought he couldn't get in your Championship team over Drinkwater and James, let alone your Premiership one. I'd say he was worth between 2 and 3, but I'm sure you see him far more regularly than I do, so maybe he is worth more to you.

He and Drinkwater were the two starters up until about Christmas, we were still doing very well with him in the team. James and Drinkwater are just a cut above.

In the Market place where championship players are selling for £10/£11m he's worth £3m minimum of anyone's money.

King's only got 1 year left on his contract hasn't he? He won't be worth that much.

I'd take Deeney, always impressed me whenever I've seen him. Not really arsed about trasnfer fees at this stage, it's huge wage bills that spell problems and we seem to have a handle on that.

I've met him several times although I accept he does not confide in me. Your statement was a pure guess. He has no need to whinge to the board as there will be enough decent offers to meet their valuation. Every player has his price.

He is if you don't want to sell.

Ulloa, Deeney, etc aren't worth £10m but that's what clubs are asking and getting.

A midfielder who could easily score 10-15 goals a season in the Championship is worth more than £1.5 million, that's for sure.

Crazy money, but Vards can't complete a full season with the shift he puts in, so someone is going to turn up.

Campbell is a no, Deeney would be decent.

it may be pure guess work, but for you to say I could not be more wrong with my assessment, is just as much of a guess. I may be completely right.

Isn't this what they describe as the "trickle-down effect" in economics?

The more money premier league clubs get, the higher the transfer fees will be. It's all very well Watford charging us £10 million for Deeney, but they'll never be able to replace him. Let's be honest, who the fvck wants to play for Watford?

They'll buy someone for £10m from the blokes other team and he'll packet all the cash. lol
