Grandad. Posted 4 November 2014 Posted 4 November 2014 Well I am pretty proud of that performance to be honest, yeah we have lost, but we have lost to the best side in the world with a weakened side. Didn't create a lot but we defended brilliantly against the best players in the world, Manquillo, Toure and Moreno were top notch. Yeah tonight won't look good if we don't get something v Chelsea but tonight was far from an embarrassment, far from the lesson we were going to be taught by Real that Manwell stated before kick off and it was encouraging.

Balotelli would of slowed us down and when we did have possession this evening Borini was the perfect runner, moving and trying to find space. Tonight we had workers and players hunting down the Madrid midfield, Manquillo and Moreno hassled Benzema and Ronaldo when they got the ball. I thought Kolo Toure and Mignolet were absolutely fantastic as well. Liverpool were meant to be the embarrassing side in Europe tonight, not Arsenal.

Wait years to get in to the Champions League, finally get there, spunk the money from your best asset up the wall and play the B team in the Champions League? Beggars belief. Read somewhere a quote from him about Tottenhams spending and how they should be walking the league spending that type of money. He's spent over £200m in 2 seasons and they've got Kolo Toure protecting Mignolet. Daft stuff.

I do like your man Embolo up front. Only 17?! I still don't think Ludogorets vs Liverpool will be that clear cut.

Only difference is that he manages to hit the target - but he had great service from Fabian Frei, who delivered two excellent through balls for him and Gonzalez to convert. Curious to see whether Embolo will decide to play for Switzerland or Cameroon in the near future.

You better hope Switzerland because he has all the attributes needed and the two performances I've seen him put in have been incredibly mature.
