MC Prussian Posted 22 October 2014 Posted 22 October 2014 Makes the group very interesting. Basel looked poor, even accounting for the fact they played with 10 men most of the game. I still think Liverpool will nick 2nd place in the last game, but at the moment it is wide open. Basel held up their own pretty well and Ludogorets were poor for the fact they had a one-man advantage for roughly 80% of the match. If it hadn't been for that silly and unnecessary stepover by Hamoudi in the opposing half at the very end which resulted in that quick and fatal counter attack and the deflected goal, the game would've ended in a fair draw. But in the end, they only have themselves to blame. (Although the red card against Die was harsh)
Stadt Posted 22 October 2014 Posted 22 October 2014 I think the managers of the English teams aren't good enough, Mourinho aside.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 22 October 2014 Posted 22 October 2014 How ****ing good is Luka Modric? Christ.
Stadt Posted 22 October 2014 Posted 22 October 2014 How ****ing good is Luka Modric? Christ.Class, I think Isco gets overshadowed as well.
bovril Posted 22 October 2014 Posted 22 October 2014 How ****ing good is Luka Modric? Christ. I know.

At the time, the referee was very quick and the Basel players didn't protest much so I thought it was clear-cut. I wouldn't say Ludogorets were 'poor', sure they ran out of ideas against a very well organised Basel back line but they deserved a bit of luck after the Liverpool game. I thought your big lad up front (number 36?) looked good.
Dan Posted 22 October 2014 Posted 22 October 2014 How ****ing good is Luka Modric? Christ. Consider your request to join 'Dan's Luka Modric appreciation group' successful. What a player. Honestly think he's one of the worlds best. The gap between our clubs and Europe's elite is getting wider by the season. When will people learn it's down to more than throwing the most money around? OK that was quite a poor comment given it was Real Madrid they lost to tonight, but I still think in the bigger picture my point stands. I'll be interested to see how Chelsea do, mind.
Guest Col city fan Posted 22 October 2014 Posted 22 October 2014 Isco is a superb little player. He fits into Real Madrid really well. Tonight's game was like men v boys. I think it's a major shame. Liverpool have always been my 'second team' and to see them subjected to such a masterclass was quite upsetting. I don't understand Rogers at the moment. He has pretty much wasted the Suarez money on assembling a squad which generally looks weaker than last season. And I will NEVER get the signing of Balotelli. As I said at the time (and of course was castigated on here for it), he's never a Liverpool player in a million years. I wonder how much longer the Liverpool fans, generally a very loyal and knowledgeable bunch, will put up with seeing these performances week-in, week-out.
VLC86 Posted 22 October 2014 Posted 22 October 2014 How ****ing good is Luka Modric? Christ. Incredible, went to see Madrid V Sociedad last year and he absolutely bossed it.

In all seriousness Rodgers has spunked the Suarez cash as spectacularily as AVB did Bales last summer. Markovic and Balotelli are complete gash, Lovren has been poor, Can has barely played. Lallana is a good signing but £27mil is madness.
Samilktray Posted 22 October 2014 Posted 22 October 2014 At least Spurs have Erik Lamela to show for spunking all there money.

I thought your big lad up front (number 36?) looked good. Die hit the ball first, then, in the same movement, slipped and made contact with the opposing players' shins. Harsh, very harsh red. I think the referee was also positioned behind Die and couldn't clearly see the impact, only the reaction coming from the Ludogorets player. Sousa needs to take part of the blame for employing a back line of six, two of which usually play as forwards...
ScouseFox Posted 22 October 2014 Posted 22 October 2014 wow imagine thinking there was anyone ever who's donned a pair of footy boots who did it better than our ronnie

Sterlings abilities have been completely ignored in all the games this season. He needs space to turn and run, going up the middle, is a complete farce.Madrid time and time again shown English clubs how to use your pace. The Madrid pace players had several runs,Sterlings were more like cough and splutters, mainly because the passes to him sold him short.
leicsmac Posted 23 October 2014 Posted 23 October 2014 wow imagine thinking there was anyone ever who's donned a pair of footy boots who did it better than our ronnie Had this discussion before. When he stops consistently going missing for his country then we can talk about him being the best ever rather than just one of the best ever.
Finnegan Posted 23 October 2014 Posted 23 October 2014 wow imagine thinking there was anyone ever who's donned a pair of footy boots who did it better than our ronnie Messi more CL goals per game, higher chance conversion, higher shot accuracy (almost a clear ten percent ahead for both), less of his goals from set pieces, twice the number of hattricks and more years ahead of him to play CL football. But okay, sure, your favourite must be the best.
Finnegan Posted 23 October 2014 Posted 23 October 2014 yeah but he's still no ronaldo You just like Ronaldo's slicked back, bronze look don't you? His dreamboat eyes? Like a cheap Gavin Henson.
filbertway Posted 23 October 2014 Posted 23 October 2014 You just like Ronaldo's slicked back, bronze look don't you? His dreamboat eyes? Like a cheap Gavin Henson. Who doesn't? The man's a god amongst men. I'd fancy Ronnie to beat Messi in a singles game of cuppies.
Samilktray Posted 23 October 2014 Posted 23 October 2014 He'll always be remembered as that guy who was nearly as good as Cristiano Ronaldo but didn't pay his taxes.
Stevosevic Posted 23 October 2014 Posted 23 October 2014 I think it's the opposite - Messi over shadows Ronaldo in nearly every way apart from looks.
