Liverpool have been desperately mediocre this season to be fair but your right this is an abject lesson. I think only Chelsea would stand half a chance against either Real Madrid, Bayern Munich or Barcelona. Also even before the goals I was stunned at how unbelievably mute the Anfield crowd was, it was like watching them in a league game, embarrassing support.

Basel looked poor, even accounting for the fact they played with 10 men most of the game. I still think Liverpool will nick 2nd place in the last game, but at the moment it is wide open.
