therealwiggster Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 Hi Everyone, I have just joined the Forum. Hopefully some of you older fans can advise me about a Brass plaque I have just bought at auction in Northampton. It is about 10 inches by 6 inches mounted on a wooden surround. It has LEICESTER CITY F C engraved into it. I think it may have been mounted on the wall at Filbert street or somewhere connected to the club sometime over the years as it looks quite old. I have spoken to Howard Riley, ex Leicester player. who has suggested I speak to John Hutchinson (club Historian) but before I do that I would like to get any feedback any of you fans can give me , Cheers.
fleckneymike Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 From what you describe it sounds very much like an engraved brass plaque mounted on some wood.

Unabomber Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 Not sure about the 10 inch x 6 inch ones sorry wig.
HesNotGudjonsonn2 Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 Very helpful Mike you'll go far. You have already to the hang of this forum, just generally banter and bad jokes but we love it that way. Regarding your original post, I had plaque once so I changed toothpaste.
ElusiveEd Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 To be fair all we know is it's a brass plaque with Leicester City FC written on it. Must be loads of those made over the years. Maybe a picture would help???

Solihullfox Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 Plaque...whatever, do you have any news on the Cambiasso medical Wiggster ?
Fox_in_a_Box Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 Well if its a brass plaque that's about 6 inch x 10 inch mounted on a wooden surround with LEICESTER CITY F C engraved on it that you bought at an auction in Northampton. I can tell you one thing for sure and that is I know nothing about it. I suggest you speak to John Hutchinson(club historian).
Stadt Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 That'd be Woods. If this is serious I probably won't do anything apart from be slightly irritated
Jace Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 I wonder if its the famous wooden plaque from the main stand that went missing that the club were looking for years ago?
gerrytaggart Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 Ive heard about these but never actually seen one. They used to be used in the olden days to engrave words onto before twitter ruined everything.
foxile5 Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 If this is serious I probably won't do anything apart from be slightly irritated That's the scope of my aim, slight irritation. My posting style is 'mild skin rash'.
kyleolly Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 It'll be the plaque from the filbert street boardroom that was laid on top of the rubble when the ground was knocked down it was the only surviving matter from the demolition worth a hell of a lot of money!
