Guest Col city fan Posted 21 August 2014 Posted 21 August 2014 The pictures are shocking. To think, the fella who was crying into his shirt at the World Cup, reduced to looking like this. Whatever you think of the cause, the outcome remains sad and tragic.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 21 August 2014 Posted 21 August 2014 **** me, this makes me overwhelmingly sad. One of (if not the first) my first memories of football was him sending Colin Hendry on holiday to bag at Wembley. Get well, man.
ScouseFox Posted 22 August 2014 Posted 22 August 2014 gonna take more than just a pulling up of his denims to sort this out ey
MPH Posted 22 August 2014 Posted 22 August 2014 It's his life. If he wants to pickle it, it's his call. Umm. Sort of. In my opinion, when you have kids you forsake the right to piss your life up the wall.... Nowt wrong with a bev or two. All the bevs I know are quite ugly, though....
ScouseFox Posted 22 August 2014 Posted 22 August 2014 before he knows it he'll be inside nicking his cell mates wine gums to trade for jim mcdonalds home brew. slippery slope so it is.
CKB Posted 22 August 2014 Posted 22 August 2014 What a sorry, sorry sight, he's only going one way i'm afraid
ozleicester Posted 22 August 2014 Posted 22 August 2014 A sad sad demise. Just goes to show that no matter what your skills, money, abilities and support, an evil illness can ruin your life. Hope that one day he can manage to live a life that makes him happy.
Fox92 Posted 22 August 2014 Posted 22 August 2014 Not sure if this is real but just seen this picture of Gazza on twitter. It's really hard to have any empathy when he continues to fvck his life up by failing to abstain from alcohol. I hope he takes another good luck at him self in this picture and sorts him self out. Be different if when/he dies though. The picture is truly shocking. A player that promised so much, that was so talented, to this. Horrible.

Horrible. You say "promised so much" as if he never fulfilled any of his talent, he was an incredible footballer.
Fox92 Posted 22 August 2014 Posted 22 August 2014 You say "promised so much" as if he never fulfilled any of his talent, he was an incredible footballer. I know he was. I mean more of that fact that he should have signed for Manchester United. He would have won so much, he would have been looked after well too.
Kent Posted 22 August 2014 Posted 22 August 2014 I think the first photo is an especially bad one, I mean he looks rough in the other one that was posted further down but for whatever reason I think the first one makes him look worse. Not in good nick either way.
Tommy G Posted 22 August 2014 Posted 22 August 2014 Tragic. Shame as so many people have tried to help him but he's only going one way it seems
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 22 August 2014 Posted 22 August 2014 We've (well certainly I) have had benders when the next morning your face puffs up like a frog, but that photo is awful. God knows who has been helping him to live in one of most expensive square miles in the world (Sandbanks), and helping him through rehab. Whoever it is/they are, their patience is being truly tested. Constant relaps certainly looks like he's beyond helping. Great shame.
Fox92 Posted 22 August 2014 Posted 22 August 2014 ITV just reported that QPR have offered him a coaching role. Not sure how true?
bovril Posted 22 August 2014 Posted 22 August 2014 The guy had more talent in his little toe than the current England squad combined. Our most talented ever player. As mentioned above, that goal vs Scotland would have to go down as the greatest England goal of all time, the venue, the time, the opposition. Just perfect.
Durnerz Posted 22 August 2014 Posted 22 August 2014 After reading his book and what he's been through in life its sadly no surprise that its ending the way it is. A real hero for me growing up, especially the goal against Scotland, a time when I was falling in love with football. It seems he had many demons from childhood that weren't dealt with and obsession grew and grew inside him to the point he's at now where its not looking likely that it will loosen its grip. I fear its just a matter of time.

broughtonblue Posted 22 August 2014 Posted 22 August 2014 What pisses me off is when I booze a lot my weight shoots up, how come he can drink loads more than me and be so bloody skinny?
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 22 August 2014 Posted 22 August 2014 What pisses me off is when I booze a lot my weight shoots up, how come he can drink loads more than me and be so bloody skinny? I don't think he really eats, looks really malnourished.
stripeyfox Posted 22 August 2014 Posted 22 August 2014 Well it is such a shame. Gazza is probably the best player I've watched in my lifetime and I remember the warm reception he received when he came on as a substitute for Everton at Filbert Street. Very few players who have no connection to Leicester get applauded on the field but he did that day. He has had some incredible support from his colleagues in the game but seems to have relapsed again. The terrible thing is that if you heard on the news that Gazza had been found dead in a hotel room it would come as absolutely no surprise at all. It's like watching a rerun of George Best's final months.
promised land Posted 22 August 2014 Posted 22 August 2014 What pisses me off is when I booze a lot my weight shoots up, how come he can drink loads more than me and be so bloody skinny? If you know any alcoholics you'll see that most are quite skinny, they don't care about their health, eating etc, just want the next fix of booze. The same as druggies, I've known two or three real alcoholics and they've all been about 6 stone wet through.
broughtonblue Posted 22 August 2014 Posted 22 August 2014 So I'm not a proper alcoholic, thank feck for that. I can keep having Stella on my cornflakes every morning!!
Matt Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Is there anyone Arry' doesn't want at QPR? Harry Redknapp has offered Paul Gascoigne a chance to work at QPR as he continues to battle alcoholism. The former England player is reportedly being treated in Poole hospital after being found drunk outside his home. Redknapp, who lives close to Gascoigne on the south coast, has tried to help him by encouraging him to come along to QPR’s training ground and work with the youth team. “I saw him about a month ago and said: ‘I’ll pick you up in the mornings, Gazza, come training with me and do a bit of work with the kids.’ I’d love it if he could do that,” the Rangers manager said. “I’d pick him up every morning at quarter to six at the top of his road. He can go and do some coaching with the kids and help Steve Gallen with the younger players. It’s an open invitation to him. “He’s a great lad and it’s sad to see what’s happened to him and how he’s looking at the moment. I see Gazza around and I love him. He’s got a heart of gold. He’s probably given his last penny away. That’s how he is. But everybody has tried to help and the only person who can help him now has got to be himself.” http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/aug/22/harry-redknapp-paul-gascoigne-qpr
