PAPA LAZAROU Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 And what we all know of Nigel, I think that says a lot. For him to persist in this, you'd think this may tell us something. Plus - he's also given us a time frame of 'hopefully the next few days', so, we safely assume he (NP) wants news before Friday's registration. He was as persistent concerning Ulloa and look what happened there, so, fingers crossed. Hope springs eternal.
PAPA LAZAROU Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 To all those on here who keep on taking the p*ss of of G.T.F. Really is there any need ? When has he had a bad game for us ? you are like little lost children who need to play follow the leader to ingratiate your selves with the other posters. you are probably the same people who were calling Hammond in the same way, You were wrong about him also. Save your sheep like comments for someone who is really worth your sarcasm and blunted wit. I mean come on it really, it's not razor sharp wit to say he is overweight is it ?
Jon25747 Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28926689 More of the same...
Robin JD Popley Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 Hope springs eternal. Got to keep believing Papa. It's all we get in this world. Hope.
Monsell1976 Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 Why do people keep saying this? He's not going to get 'one last big pay day' (fvck me I'm sick of that phrase) out of us is he, so what does that even mean in this context? He's simply looking for the best deal for himself. If we're the best offer and he's happy with the set up then he'll sign. If there's on offer in Madrid/Valencia/wherever he's not. The exact same thing that 100% of people on here would do. None of us know what his motivations are money, move to London, how he's see's his roles, I gave my opinions on what the rumours are, I don't know and don't really care, that for Pearson and co to sort out, what I do know is it becoming increasingly boring and embarrassing, it's time to say sign or **** off.
Monsell1976 Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 What fits with what? This view that it's avarice on Cambiasso's part has come from pure conjecture. Newspapers knew nothing and have thus made up crap. All we really know is what NP has said.As I have said to haydos, nobody knows what his motivation is, his image isn't being painted great in the press, but I guess we have to trust the management regards his attitude, as I don't him personally, I couldn't really say how he will be around the squad.
PAPA LAZAROU Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 Got to keep believing Papa. It's all we get in this world. Hope. Yes Robin. It's what we city fans have in abundance. The essence of a true city fan.
Deucalion Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 All reports say he is an energetic and hard-working player, so from that can we conclude that his attitude on the pitch is very good?
Callabinho Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 All reports say he is an energetic and hard-working player, so from that can we conclude that his attitude on the pitch is very good? His attitude has always been top notch. Hence his loyalty to Milan.

For what it's worth I'm glad GTF is in our squad. All jokes aside he has a great footballing brain, can pick a pass better than most and has one of the best controls of the ball in the squad. When we need to hold on to a lead he could be valuable this season. And as last season proved, can also pinch a goal or two. I made a GTF joke as 'banter' (not the Malky Mackay kind)
PerfumePonce Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 I wonder if I can get a cut of this contract if he signs - considering the amount of mobile internet data I've wasted on this jabroni.
glen parva fox Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 Latest from sports Mole 2.39pmWill Esteban Cambiasso be a Premier League player come the closing of the transfer window this time next week? The Argentine veteran has been linked with a move to newly-promoted Leicester City for much of the summer and Foxes boss Nigel Pearson has said that a deal can be done. Man Utd are also believed to be interested in the 34-year-old and will hope that their new Argentinian contigent can lure him to Old Trafford.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 Why do some people blame Cambiasso in this? For me it's clear Cambiasso wants to come, otherwise Pearson would have pulled the plug and wouldn't be playing this game. It's some shareholder that's being the bollox here and dragging this out for a fatter pay out. People saying that Cambiasso should be the one calling the shots don't know anything of his personal arrangement with his agent/owners, whoever this is leaving a bad taste in the mouth of some fans, but that's bidness. If we manage to complete this deal the same people will be gagging to jump on his back, saying he's only here for the money etc etc. I have to agree with the above. People on here point the finger at the opposite camp because it's the easy answer. Why should the problem not be within our own camp? There are always two sides to every story, so some people need to pull their heads out of the sand.

Not having a go at you when I say this Glen Parva but only half of this is believable. Man Utd would not sign a 34 year old Cambiasso when they are nearing the signing of Di Maria from Real.

You are obviously aware of his contribution thus far to the team and indeed our promotion. It just gets to me that the ill informed ones slag off city players just because others do without a shred of factual evidence, just that he is overweight. Sorry if You took offence it was not meant to.
Robin JD Popley Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 Why not? Has he become a winger since he left Inter ? My apologises, I thought Di Maria played CM as I have seen him play in an attacking presence more centrally. However, the purpose of my point stands Jon. Man Utd could have any player (within reason) they wanted. Why would they go out of their way to sign a 34 year old, albeit brilliant DM, when they could go out and buy an upcoming DM in his prime? Anyway, I think from what we do know as 'fact', we would appear to be the only English club - at least - in for him, with a definitive offer in place.

Because Sporting want silly money for Carvalho, as do Roma with Strootman, as do Juventus with Vidal etc etc. Sign Cambiasso and put him next to Herrera for 2 years whilst they look for a more permanent midfield partner sounds like pretty good business to me.

Oh, yes, it does but I still think it is highly unlikely. Think all parties are now hoping this is resolved quickly, but, think we might be nearly there. Let's hope that that 'sometime' is later this week and we see him and a few others holding aloft their Leicester City shirts.

Sorry if You took offence it was not meant to. Dude, I don't need to see factual evidence to know GTF is woeful. It's a fact he is overweight, and this makes him even less mobile and he isn't exactly strong either. He doesn't hold the ball up any better than anyone else contrary to belief and for all his 'vision' I remember 2 assists in around 20 games last year. His overall contribution is poor, and this will be evident in the cup tomorrow against lower league opposition.

It always amazes me in this day and age when we have instant access to free information, that people still use 'stats' to back up their stance without performing a simple cursory check. In about 30 seconds I typed "taylor fletcher transfermarkt" into google, clicked on the link to his performance data page, and changed the view to information from 13/14 to find out that he assisted 4 goals and scored 3 in 21 appearances over 484 minutes (5 matches, 34 minutes). So he contributed to a goal every 70 minutes that he played and you want to claim "his overall contribution is poor". Bore off.
