Cambiasso's in then he's out in out in out shakes us all about!

Watching Pearson on sky sports suggests to me it's about done, just because Pearson is quiet about transfers until they are done, and when he says he's more confident than he was Friday he had a cheeky grin.

Typical school playground, picking on the weakest link.

Not the greatest in our team, but contributed to the group last season and NP wants to try and keep that group together.

We will always have players who are not as good as others, and the manager will know who they are and what his plans are to move them on.

But why not just accept him while he is here. At the moment he has a valuable role to play, so best get behind him for the sake of the total picture.

As mentioned, it's like a playground picking on the weakest link, there will always be a few fringe players, and watch the vultures go at em

Slightly different. We're talking about a professional sportsman not a special needs kid. It's a team sport. Therefore if he is so much a 'weak link' then the criticism is fair enough. As many have said on here, he has no excuse for being in that shape.

Cambiasso plus 2 more?

Quite frankly I've lost all optimism surrounding the Cambiasso deal now - but am confident Pearson will do whatever is best for the club going forward and wont panic buy for the sake of it.

I do feel we're in danger of being left light if we don't sign though since while we've been unlucky so far this season with injuries we're tempting fate if we gamble this wont happen again later on in the season

I wonder if Pearson has done an 'off the record' briefing to some journos that this is now likely to go through.

Otherwise, seems odd for them to be producing articles like this after the mirror's yesterday morning stated the opposite???

From my perspective, there will be other clubs who find themselves in a position, days before the window shuts, who realise that EC might be a decent gamble for them. Other deals may have fallen through or injuries occurred. Perhaps that's where the stalling tactics come from. Problem we have is that we can't afford to be waiting till next Monday evening for a decision!

Seems Nigel wants 3 players including EC a defender and attacker but won't get held to ransom because we need players! Value is key he says!.. Aldi it is then!!

Think we need to bite the bullet and pay the fees if we want the player as being left short on numbers will cost us more!!

Optimistic, yes. But I feel lots will happen in this week as the window comes to an end.  Also don't forget any player on a free is eligible to be brought in after the window closes.  But i will stick my neck out and say at least 4 new players will be in this week.

How does the out of contract player work when you have to submit your 25 man squad end August to the PL? is there an allowance made for this possibility?

There isn't no but I believe they could play in cup games and registered in January. Doesn't really help us though lol

If you don't have 25 by the close of the window you can add free transfers.  Can you name 25 players over the age of 21?

Thanks for clarifying that - so assuming EC hasn't signed for anyone by next Monday at 23:00, he could come crawling back to us if we haven't declared 25 players.

correct.  You don't have to register 25 by the end of the window.  You just can't register more than 25 over 21 yo's
