According to today’s edition of L’Equipe, Rod Fanni’s move to Leicester failed simply because he did not impress during his two day trial period.

According to the paper, he lack aggressiveness and intensity. The deal did not fall through because of issues with wages.

Oh fair enough didnt know that. Where did you here that?

Nigel Pearson has told us this morning that the Cambiasso to #LCFC deal has progressed & he’s now more ‘hopeful’

Maybe i'm wrong then, this is probably the most reliable source recently.

He's realised he's got no other options then basically.

I can't helping thinking this though.

I'm slowly finding out what the delay is, I'm driving to Milan from Leicester and it's a ****ing ball ache! He's probably left his wallet at home so can't go on the toll roads.

Most credible source in a while really. Think its recommended to us all now to not believe a word these newspapers + websites say.

Utter guesswork.

Why do some people blame Cambiasso in this? For me it's clear Cambiasso wants to come, otherwise Pearson would have pulled the plug and wouldn't be playing this game. It's some shareholder that's being the bollox here and dragging this out for a fatter pay out. People saying that Cambiasso should be the one calling the shots don't know anything of his personal arrangement with his agent/owners, whoever this is leaving a bad taste in the mouth of some fans, but that's bidness. If we manage to complete this deal the same people will be gagging to jump on his back, saying he's only here for the money etc etc.

Out transfer business is becoming nothing short of embarrassing. A shambles.

Or, in fact the complete opposite. Are you basing this on complete guesswork from shitty papers that I wouldn't even wipe my arse on?

If you think Pearson is going to give us a daily update on all bids/offers/enquiries you are very much mistaken.

Obviously only coming as he's ran out of options! like people have said we want people committed to the cause not just here for the money! Both Hammond and king have stepped up so tell him to do 1!

But there is the issue ..once you get this type in with his mafia , it brings a danger of infecting the whole ethos of the squad and club... every little thing becomes a strung out negotiation. .what does that do for morale ?  I for one am concerned , we have come too far to allow one ego to fook us up.. after all this, he better be the dogs bollocks.

Sack 'em then. If you want to sign for a club but someone you employ is stopping you from doing so that sounds like an excellent reason to tell that person they've lost their job.

If a relationship isn't beneficial in any other area of life, business or personal, you walk away. You have to question why someone would maintain a relationship if they didn't want it.

According to my neighbour who works for the club in some full time capacity. Cambiasso years ago sold all his rights to a sports group . So the clubs having to deal with the sports group ,the agent ,the player . Any footballer has the right to ask for certain wages i woukd pay him the full £50,000 as his shear experience outways any of our other players experience . Its clear he still wants to play otherwise he wouldnt cone to the club for talks. Put your self in his situation wouldnt you want the best deal possible in year final years of playing... Yes you would so before you all jump about like apes complainin he just wants money ... You would all do the same .... You dont choose a job for the least wages do ya

Now it's our turn to piss about. Delay the contract signing and tell him we are waiting to see if any of our other midfield targets come off before committing to Cambiasso, see how he likes it.

The only shambles is deciding which paper to wipe your arse on.

It could be shareholders of his 'rights' going way back to when he first left Argentina he probably has no say in the matter.

So what's pretty clear from the last two weeks:

1. No one here is ITK and yes that includes all the alleged ITK's pre this whole Cambiasso saga

2. Little or no people here fully understand how football transfers work. It's a complex business with multiple stakeholders involved. A lot of the time the actual player has little say. These players are commodities

3. It's clear that the invention of social media and easier ways to publish news has completely saturated the general quality and reliability of "press" in general with the knock on affect of even reputable sources being tarred with the same brush or becoming lazy and citing poor /made up reports

4. The fickleness of our fans is embarrassing, one min he is god, the next min everyone is on a bandwagon stating how shvt he is because someone has incorrectly suggested the deal hold up is because he is after more money/better terms

5. Many of us have delusions of grandeur, we are a smaller club than most of the PL, we are back in the PL after ten years. Its a fcuking miracle we've even held talks with such a world class player

I can't see it happening but do you think a more in depth explanation would be forthcoming if we do sign him as to what the actual issues were?

As much as I want this player here I'd feel more assured that an explanation would appease any fears about him actually WANTING to play for us.

Nigel is quoted as saying he only wants players who feel they have, and want to bring, something to the club, not players who have the, "What can the club do for me" attitude.

I, for one, would like some indication (Not that I/we are entitled to one) that the problems were not related to scenario 2 above.

I'd find it hard to believe NP would go against this/his ethos and sign this player if scenario 2 is the case.

If he signs it will be interesting to watch his displays/attitude/commitment to see if he is really happy to be here and wants to be here. If he had signed when first offered the contract I'd have been ecstatic but, unless an explanation indicates it WAS more his representatives causing the problems than him (Maybe they have caused him problems too? Who knows?) then it has left a bitter taste.

He could become a cult hero here but he is going to have to show a lot of commitment to convince me.

Let's be honest, when his other options seemed to be the Spanish Champions, we are going to be the 'last option'. A player of his standard could find his way into most starting XI or at least have a good presence. We won't be first choice at all this year if there are A) any top six teams B) European Giants or C) any Premier League London teams outside the bottom three. Next year may be different but for this season we have to accept we're the newly promoted team who most foreign players won't know how we'll get on until we can prove our worth.
