dannythefox Posted 15 January 2015 Share Posted 15 January 2015 The only problem with Defoe is keeping him fit, still one hell of a strike if they manage to do that.
psychonaut Posted 15 January 2015 Share Posted 15 January 2015 The only problem with Defoe is keeping him fit, still one hell of a strike if they manage to do that. I'd say keeping the guy interested could be more of a problem. Shit player anyway.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 15 January 2015 Share Posted 15 January 2015 If Sunderland can keep him fit, he just could turn out to be their Premiership lifeline. For people to call him a "shit" player is ludicrous.
MGLCFC Posted 15 January 2015 Share Posted 15 January 2015 The gamble for Sunderland (and if he had signed for us) is a) Can he the hit the ground running having been away from Premier League action for a while. If he takes a month to get back to full effectiveness it could be too late? b) How injury prone is he? c) How interested is in playing for a less glamorous club? Whatever he does there is £70K a week going into his bank account. However, If he is firing on all cylinders, totally committed and bangs in the goals, 4million a year may not be a bad return. If he was on 70,000 a year he would struggle to spend it in Sunderland. Seems a ridiculous gamble.

okie fox Posted 15 January 2015 Share Posted 15 January 2015 Defoe scores goals, but often shoots himself instead of passing to a better placed team mate. Doesn't work hard for the team. So glad he is not coming here for that amount of money!
Jace Posted 15 January 2015 Share Posted 15 January 2015 He will only be going for the money same as why he went to Toronto, he's not going there to prove himself as a up and coming World class striker like Kramaric is doing. Wherever he is successful or not I'd much rather do business that way for the right reasons.

Bagworthblue Posted 16 January 2015 Share Posted 16 January 2015 I wonder if we were ever really in for him Probably put out there to help lever another deal. expect us to have another 'striker' interest soon to lever the Japanese chap. Just a guess
Leicesterpool Posted 16 January 2015 Share Posted 16 January 2015 I wonder if we were ever really in for him It seems like all the premier league clubs were after him and no surprise really he's a great striker that is wasted in the MLS, I tell you what though Sunderland would have probably been one of the last clubs I'd imagine him joining.
