sylofox Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Tottenham Hotspur @SpursOfficial · 29m29 minutes ago We can confirm that @IAmJermainDefoe will train with our Development Squad for the next week to maintain fitness during MLS close season. Was told this by a spurs fan last night he also said we are favourites to sign him. Also Hull would have to break the bank to get him as it is to far from london.

Wonder if he'll play for them... we play them on the 26th
Guest Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 he's training with Lennon to persuade him to join us too
Buzzell Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 I'd love having Defoe here but could see him moving to a London club if any are interested in him.
chapero82 Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 can't see it myself now http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/bookmakers-suspend-betting-on-jermain-defoe-joining-crystal-palace-in-january-9965371.html
tyneside fox Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 It was in The Sun the other day that it would have cost Hull £10.4 Million to sign defoe including wages a bit much for a 32 year old with injury problem IMO
Jace Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 I'm really not bothered we ended up signing a much better striker for the future 2 new strikers to settle in wouldn't have been for the best either
GaelicFox Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Does anybody seriously bet on transfers and where players will end up? John Hartson
Danizen Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 He would have been great but it would have been a huge money sink if it had gone through. A £7M transfer fee that we would have no hope in hell of recovering plus at least £50k/week whereas Kramaric is believed to be on about £27k/week with a good chance of recovering that fee if we go down or even making a huge profit if we stay up. I wouldn't say I'm happy but I'm certainly not sad.
johnny the fox Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 John Hartson to be fair..he would bet on which snail would fall off the wall first..
VLC86 Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 to be fair..he would bet on which snail would fall off the wall first.. You know you have stared at a screen for too long when you read that as 'snails farting off a wall'

Tuna Posted 9 January 2015 Posted 9 January 2015 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/toronto-slash-jermain-defoe-asking-4951241 No chance Spurs would sign him it would be as well received as us resigning Matty Fryatt.
Oadby Fox Posted 9 January 2015 Posted 9 January 2015 No chance Spurs would sign him it would be as well received as us resigning Matty Fryatt. Funny you'd say that MF was seen in Leicester this week
gurru991 Posted 9 January 2015 Posted 9 January 2015 I'm quite happy that it's dead. This guy is on the cusp of being over the hill, he has struggled for the last part of the season in TO. Too big a paycheck & too old.
chapero82 Posted 9 January 2015 Posted 9 January 2015 No chance of him coming here now, I don't think we ever had a chance
MC Prussian Posted 9 January 2015 Posted 9 January 2015 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/toronto-slash-jermain-defoe-asking-4951241 How has his spell at Toronto "failed to pay off"? It's not like he alone is the team, really. Who knows what TFC could've achieved with Defoe staying on for another year and everybody else fit and eager to win games...
sylofox Posted 9 January 2015 Posted 9 January 2015 Just been told QPR Bound the only club to meet his demands. From a spurs fan?
Tuna Posted 9 January 2015 Posted 9 January 2015 He'd surely need serious work on fitness, hence being probably not a viable option.
sylofox Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 He'd surely need serious work on fitness, hence being probably not a viable option. Was told last nite he was ours. QPR moved today and he wants to be with Arry. Fitness he could play next sat spurs surprised at his fitness level while training? Just what I have been told.
Buzzell Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Just been told QPR Bound the only club to meet his demands. From a spurs fan? Surprise surprise.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Since we're in for Okazaki, would prefer him myself
sphericalfox Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Let Harry have him. If Okazaki is serious and goes through, we'll have a player just as good, for a lot longer, on probably less wage.
