Bigboss204 Posted 22 September 2014 Posted 22 September 2014 Kasper De Laet Moore Morgan Konch Mahrez Cambiasso Drinkwater Knockaert Ulloa Vardy What's going on with knockaert? No chance he will start probably won't even figure in the squad.
Silverdaz Posted 22 September 2014 Posted 22 September 2014 What's going on with knockaert? No chance he will start probably won't even figure in the squad. going out on loan apparently
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 22 September 2014 Posted 22 September 2014 Same 11 for me, Mahrez and James will have to wait.
Happy Fox Posted 22 September 2014 Posted 22 September 2014 Crystal Palace play Newcastle United on Wednesday in the League Cup, they are going to be pretty fatigued out, bonus for us.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 22 September 2014 Posted 22 September 2014 Same team for me. Maybe change formation.
Countesthorpe Fox 1884 Posted 22 September 2014 Posted 22 September 2014 Schmiechel RDL Moore Morgan Konch Cambiasso Drinkwater Hammond Nugent Vardy Ulloa 2-1 City
Devonfox1884 Posted 22 September 2014 Posted 22 September 2014 going out on loan apparently Where you heard/seen this?!
kingfox Posted 22 September 2014 Posted 22 September 2014 Think 4-3-3 against Palace is a bit too risky, at times yesterday in the first half both United full-backs were bombing forward, as well as Di Maria who was causing problems down both flanks, De Laet & Konchesky at times were crying out for support. We seen in the Championship what the likes of Bolasie & Zaha can do to us, they terrorised us a couple of season's back. We can't leave De Laet & Konchesky up against them two, without playing wingers in front of them, who will track back & defend as well as help on the counter. 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 again for me, has worked so far. Vardy back to the bench, bit mad but Nugent behind Ulloa has worked in games so far, and away from home Nugent I think is a better option when it comes to dropping back & helping out the midfield. Hammond for me is a more physical presence, we need someone in midfield who can compete with Jedinak's physicality. While for me Mahrez & Schlupp back on the wings makes sense, just to help out De Laet & Konchesky, who could become vulnerable against Bolasie & Zaha, Schlupp against Everton, Chelsea & Arsenal really helped Konchesky out & they work well together. Schmeichel De Laet - Morgan - Moore - Konchesky Mahrez - Drinkwater - Hammond - Schlupp Nugent Ulloa Subs - Hamer, Simpson, Cambiasso, James, Albrighton, Powell, Vardy
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 23 September 2014 Posted 23 September 2014 Gotta have Was on the bench, over James or Powell.
Guest Col city fan Posted 23 September 2014 Posted 23 September 2014 Gotta have Was on the bench, over James or Powell. I'd completely forgotten Powell was at the club! You know, I think this is a really tough test. Both sides on the back of victories. I wonder whether Nige might revert back to his trusty 4-4-2? With a couple of wide men and Drinkwater/Cambi in the centre. Personally, I'd have Vardy and Ulloa up top to start.
lennybhoy Posted 23 September 2014 Posted 23 September 2014 Cambiasso has to and will start this game...You cant leave players with his ability /experience and leadership on the bench. After watching his last two games ,stevie wonder could see that that he already is a hugely influential presence in the Leicester side.
foxfan92 Posted 23 September 2014 Posted 23 September 2014 4 - 3 - 3 worked well against the United diamond formation - but lets not forget until the score was 3 - 2 we didn't look dominant One thing I hope we can take from what happened from 3 -2 onwards in the match is confidence and belief continue to grow (I think Nige will keep the players grounded and disciplined) It was nice to see De Laet picking his moments better in the second half and not being afraid to have a run at the opposition - and I think our midfield offered more support to allow him to do this in the second half too. Hopefully he's learned not to overcommit too high up the pitch. I think it will be a different game against Palace. While Everton used a 4 - 3 - 3 and dominated most of the game they still came undone. What has been our strength in midfield especially in the second half against Stoke and in the United game is the way Hammond and Cambiasso seem to be directing the team to work together. I would love to see James back on the field and maybe he could do the job even better than Hammond, but I agree with others who say he'll need to be patient and Hammond has done enough to warrant another start in my opinion. I like the way Nugent is giving the opposition very little time on the ball even from defence - but I feel Vardy will do that too and wonder if we can use Mahrez or Schlupp to offer us pace and the ability to go past a player on both wings (with Vardy occupying the other) I think I'd start with something like this :- Schmeichel De Laet - Morgan - Moore - Konchesky Drinkwater - Hammond - Cambiasso Mahrez Vardy Ulloa Subs - Hamer, Walys, King, James, Schlupp, Powell, Nugent Nugent has done nothing wrong - and I'd be happy with him starting - just think apart from being tired after international duties against Stoke Mahrez has done little wrong too and would offer us something more down the wings.
Silverdaz Posted 23 September 2014 Posted 23 September 2014 Four Four two with Drinkwater and Hammond in the middle and Ulloa and Nugent up top and Vardy wide left
Freesolo Posted 23 September 2014 Posted 23 September 2014 Schlupp has been poor the last few games cant see him starting, we could have hit United for 6 if he only made a simple pass to Ulloa honestly i dont think he can cut it in the prem, Mahrez got subbed because of his poor defensive display against stoke he's not the type of player you want starting in a game where your going to be under the kosh alot
filbertway Posted 23 September 2014 Posted 23 September 2014 Whatever Nige thinks will give us the best chance of winning.
Captain... Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 Problem with this game is we have no idea how Palace will line up, particularly up top. In Warnock's 3 games in charge he has used Jedinak in every game and then variations on Ledley, Bolasie, Mcarthur, Puncheon, Fryers, Ward, Zaha in the middle, with Gayle, Doyle, Chamakh, Murray, Campbell and Williams up front. with formations varying between 4231, 4411 and 442 I've not got a clue how he will line up on Saturday, their forwards don't scare me individually, but when combined with the pace of the likes of Zaha and Puncheon it could be a tough game for our back four. If they line up with pace on the flanks then we might be better off playing as a 442 with Schlupp and Mahrez playing as wide men to double up and protect RDL and Konch, but seeing as we have no idea on personnel and formation based on previous games I expect Nige to start with the same team with Hammond and Drinkwater/Nugent and Vardy instructed to protect the flanks and stop the full backs being isolated.
Bettsj2 Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 For me this is a 4-4-2 game. Kasper RDL Moore Wes Konch Mahrez Cambiasso Drinky Schlupp Vardy Ulloa
foxfanazer Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 I expect it to be a pretty scrappy and ugly game. Similar to the stoke game and hopefully with the same result. I can see both teams starting cautiously and getting men behind the ball. This will make it difficult for us to use our pace to get in behind Palace. Think we'll go back to a 4-4-1-1 or something like that. Ulloa can get us a goal from any half decent delivery so I expect us to play with wingers
Happy Fox Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 I expect us to go on the front foot and put them under pressure, either way we will win the game if Vardy starts we have missed him in our previous couple of games prior to Stoke, we could of picked up an extra couple of points at home to Everton and Arsenal had he been fit.
fuchsntf Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 Zaha, I am expecting to explode into the season, plus they have some decent slick honest players. The CP game will be another learning curve for city. They have a good squad of players who will be more than a match on their own turf for many teams.Forget our players, but citys fans now have to clear the mist out of their eyes.MUtd game has gone the nitty gritty starts here. Like him or not, for middle teams Warnock is an asstute manager, he will set his shop out, and have his team expecting 3 pts.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 This will be a tough game and on paper, I actually really rate them tbh
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 It's a lottery on what system and personnel we will be using. We may go for the winning team again but obviously Palace play with very good wide players so that might leave the full backs exposed. I have full faith in what Nige decides.
fuchsntf Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 Take a bow city posters, unlike some opposition sites( not cp) , we are not overrating our team, and good sober sober thoughts posted. No cynicism or bad mouthing the oppositions chances.
Stadt Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 I think Nuge will be out but not because of his performances but more so Pearson'll revert back to 442 We'll smash'em 9-1
