I went to the 2-0 home win against Liverpool in 1980 and the 2-1 win at Anfield the same season. The Anfield win definitely edged today's game in terms of an achievement but today's performance was unrivalled given the excitement and comeback....if that makes any sense .    Whatever....I feel so privileged to have been at both games.

We've had some great games in recent memory (which is all I've really got), 1-0 Leeds, 3-2 Forest the obvious examples, but for someone who missed the MON era, this is easily the greatest game I've ever seen. Was an incredible day.

I might be biased seeing as I missed watching it live at the KP through being away travelling, but I'm going to say no.

As great as the result today was, and as made up as I am, I'm not sure our greatest ever result can be against a side Swansea beat and poor Burnley and Sunderland sides drew with. This is not the Manchester United of old and we scored 5 against a defence containing Blackett, Evans, Smalling and Rafael - hardly one of the great sides.

Also, despite the way we played towards the end of the match for the first 15 minutes of the second half we were still under pressure for a long time and we conceded 3 goals. It's a great win for us and I'm delighted but let's not forget where we've come from (some are acting like this is David vs Goliath and we're minnows who have achieved nothing in the history of football - we've beaten better United sides and will do so again) and also let's not judge this win against the former glories of Man United's name.

I genuinely believe a very successful new era is upon us, let's not treat it like we're a pub team punching above our weight. You'd never get supporters of teams like Everton and Aston Villa asking if this were their best ever win after a 5-3 home victory against the current Man United.

Before today I remember out best win to be against Sunderland, everything seemed to have fallen into place in that game and seemed like we'd go on to be a top 5 team until Heskey left.

Today easily beats that!

One of our best ever league results Id say but not one of the best performances. Prior to our equaliser we were putting up a decent but not particularly memorable showing and as awesome as we were for the last half hour we've given better performances over a whole game.

For me, today WAS the greatest league win I have ever witnessed.

I have experienced giant killings home and away since the late 60's but today's performance was a coming together of everything good about the club and Nigel Pearson.

In addition to having "managers" on the pitch we also have the services of Kevin Phillips who has instilled the importance of getting a good connection on the ball when in front of goal.

I understand where you're coming from and you have a point. Conversely, you could say that this is probably the most expensively assembled Man Utd side we've ever faced. Yes, their team is not balanced and the defence was not great, but we were trailing 1-3 and were being overpowered in the first hour. They were genuinely looking the real deal going forward and the fact we manage to outscore them, particularly under these circumstances, is nothing short of spectacular. Unlike against Arsenal in 97 where we were outplayed and outthought for about 80 minutes and were relying on set pieces to haul us back, we outplayed Man Utd for over half an hour with brilliant pressing and incredibly sharp play going forward. Only game that comes close quality-wise at this level is the 5-2 against Sunderland...

Well going by what you are saying, lets not judge this United side against the team that played Swansea and Burnley.

 

Di Maria has settled in and they've added Falcao and Blind. They've changed formation and look pretty damn good going forward.

 

Yes their defense is weak but Rojo, Rafeal, Blind and Evans would probably all be in our team.

 

That was the most exciting game of football I have ever watched... I was sat in a sports bar in Indonesia with LOADS of United fans and I was the only Leicester fan. I was going absolutely spastic when we scored all 5 goals, I've lost my voice haha!

 

At 2-0 down I said to my friend "This could be a hammering here" and I was right! United where shocked... The thing is, we exposed their flanks with our wing backs and it worked a treat!

 

Nigel Pearson has got his tactics bang on for every game and I can see all the team are working so hard for him, which is fantastic to see!

 

Vardy for me played world class and if Lambert can get an England call up, Vardy will! De Laet played class, lucky to stay on the pitch but going forward he looked powerful and determined to prove a point. Everyone played their part and I'm so glad I changed Falcao for Ulloa in my Fantasy Football team!

 

So for me, yes that's the best Leicester game I have ever seen!

Leicester 2 Newcaste 0 are first season in the Prem under MON, this is when Newcastle where playing in the Champs League and finishing runners up to United season after season. It was are first game against a top team that season and everyone expected us to get hammered, Claridge scored in the first half and Heskey in the second, I always remember is because Kasey Keller won MOTM and showed the best goalkeeping perormance ive ever seen to this day he was out of this world

Until yesterday my favourite ever Leicester game was the 5-0 win against Cambridge United in May 1992 in the Play Off Semi Final. For me, nothing since has eclipsed that dazzling night at a rocking Filbert Street. Yesterday has probably beaten it but I think it takes time for it to "sink in". It may well become my new favourite ever match but it would be a bit knee jerk for it to usurp Cambridge straight away.

Absolutely love this team right now, hard-working, confident, attack minded even against the very best teams and thoroughly entertaining to watch. And the best thing is we're going to get better because we have so many young players with fantastic potential.

This current side play much nicer football than O'Neill's side in my opinion. Whether they are better or not is open to debate, but MON's sides were rarely attractive to watch, even if they were effective.
