Godfrey bloom leaving ukip is good for all really, its clear he was pushed out for being out of touch with the party.
purpleronnie Posted 14 October 2014 Posted 14 October 2014 Good old johnny rotten. "[ukip is] a black hole for the ignorant to fall into"

Godfrey Bloom out of touch now is he? Wasn't that long ago the Kippers were lauding him as the victim of the politically correct brigade. How times change.
Rincewind Posted 14 October 2014 Posted 14 October 2014 According to Panarama there are as many leaving UKIP as there are joining them. Partly due to faling out with Farage. There is more but anyone that saw the programme will already know.

According to Panarama there are as many leaving UKIP as there are joining them. Partly due to faling out with Farage. There is mre but anyone that saw the programme will already know. How can they get that so wrong? He is the only prominent member I can remember who has left and he's gained hundreds of councillors, 2 sitting MP's and even millionaire donors. They are also one of the few parties whose membership is increasing. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-25562198 The UK Independence Party says a record year of growth has taken its membership above 30,000 for the first time. The party, which campaigns for the UK to leave the European Union, said numbers had increased by more than 13,000 to about 32,500 in 2013.

Most footage was nearly a decade old and he spent the majority of the programme bitching that farage wouldn't do an interview with him.

I'll watch it on the catchup, everything the BBC does in regards to UKIP is often misleading and embarrassing so I expect absolutely no different here.
Harry - LCFC Posted 14 October 2014 Posted 14 October 2014 It was one of the poorer Panaroma's I've seen for sure. A real lack of insight and didn't make me feel any more informed than I was at the start.
purpleronnie Posted 15 October 2014 Posted 15 October 2014 I'm already preparing myself for a conservative/ukip coalition after Farage's U-Turn. If that does happen I will remove myself from politics altogether, and lead a life with the mantra 'Ignorance is bliss'.....no matt that ism't labours mantra. I'm already pretty disillusioned with it these days so I think that would be the final straw.
johnny the fox Posted 15 October 2014 Posted 15 October 2014 Good old johnny rotten. wise words from a man who's name his based on his rotten teeth.. anybody who pierced his body with a safety pin as a fashion statement is no genius ....advertises butter, what a rebel..
SMX11 Posted 15 October 2014 Posted 15 October 2014 I don't think we will have a coalition at the next election. Lib dems have proved that it is not good for the lesser member.
bovril Posted 15 October 2014 Posted 15 October 2014 Talking of dear old John Lydon, a lot of politics in the UK these days reminds me of Sid Vicious's response when asked if his music was inspired by the 'man on the street':"Nah, I've met the man on the street and he's a c--t".
bovril Posted 15 October 2014 Posted 15 October 2014 Ok I don't want to go on a rant here (**** it I'll go on a rant) but I'm just sick of this fvcking blame culture we have now in the UK. It's always someone else's fault, never your own. I hear it all the time when I come home (to be fair I do live in the sticks). It's Thatcher, or Blair, or the EU, or immigrants, or 'scroungers' but never yourself. It's never your fault. Your life is shit because of some external factors that you read about in the paper but never really understand. It's not because you did **** all at school, or got pregnant at 14. It's them. And of course the politicians pander to these people because they want their little cross by their name. Does my head in!

UKIP will not go into a coalition with the Tories, they won't get enough seats between them for a start unless the Tories choose not to stand in the North. They may offer support to a minority government. How would you feel about a UKIP/Labour coalition which I'd say is more likely?

Most UKIP voters I know are the ones who seem to enjoy life more than most. The people you are describing here sounds like your typical sink estate Labour voting core. Here's my rant btw...Have we really become so obtuse and ignorant to politics personally in this country that Jonny ****ing Rottens opinions are taken seriously by some?
bovril Posted 15 October 2014 Posted 15 October 2014 What's this got to do with UKIP? Most UKIP voters I know are the ones who seem to enjoy life more than most. It's not about UKIP, it's about in general parties pandering to the lowest common denominator all the time. Ultimately it's just me spouting bollocks on an internet forum like we all are.

And I have an opposite experience on UKIP voters the ones I know (apart from 1 ex bnp voter) constantly see the negatives and seize every opportunity to run down the country, I try and avoid speaking to them thesedays, just depressing.
Guest MattP Posted 15 October 2014 Posted 15 October 2014 Who took it seriously? The BBC for a start, they stuck him on Question Time.
purpleronnie Posted 15 October 2014 Posted 15 October 2014 The BBC for a start, they stuck him on Question Time. They stick a lot of 'artists' on there as well as other guests, I have no problem with that, I always find it quite interesting whether I take them seriously or not. They spout no more nonsense than most of the politicians anyway.
Guest MattP Posted 15 October 2014 Posted 15 October 2014 It's not about UKIP, it's about in general parties pandering to the lowest common denominator all the time. Ultimately it's just me spouting bollocks on an internet forum like we all are. I wouldn't say addressing people's concerns is the lowest common denominator. People are worried about the impact of the EU on British policy, we've already been stopped kicking out hate preachers by the ECOHR that has resulted in people racadlised by a couple of them murdering people on the streets here and we have serious concerns with the level of immigration that has a huge effect on all sorts of public services and wages, a city the size of Leeds is entering the country every year and we have no control over it. (200-250,000 people). I don't know if you have these problems in Bulgaria but if you did I'm quite sure people would be talking about it. I feel sorry for them sometimes, they can't win. Ignore people and they get castigated, recognise concerns and they get accused of pandering.

They spout no more nonsense than most of the politicians anyway. They do mate. Rotten was embarrassing, Not being party polictical either as so was the right wing Pimlico plumber the other week. I actually hate the 5th 'celeb' seat on QT - totally pointless, it's easy to geta cheap round of applause when you can call for more housing, nurses, doctors, police, soldiers, firemen, schools, hospitals when you don't have to offer up a single line on how you would go about paying for it.
purpleronnie Posted 15 October 2014 Posted 15 October 2014 Matt from my experience being in other countires we seem to be the only country who are obsessed with how the population is increasing, I'm not talking about the specific type's of immigrants coming over just the increasing population side of the arguement. Other countries I've been in have higher rates of immigration and higher population levels but if anything welcome the ever increasing numbers. Is it the fact we're a small (geographically) country and fear that we'll somehow be building houses on the edge of cliffs because theres so little room (despite huge percentage of the UK being open land), or is it the squeeze on the public services? yet other more populated countries seem to be ok with it and aren't overly concerned.
