KFS Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 Sickening amount of out of touch fans on Twitter chatting shit about this. I'd love him to get a call up and just romp it with his pace.
Number 6 Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 Will be behind Berahino in the pecking order I think. Vardy was good against United but doubt he'd get in on he basis of 1 good game. I do think he'd add to the England team though.
LCFCFOX6190 Posted 29 September 2014 Author Posted 29 September 2014 Was just about to say that number 6. Berahino has looked very good this season.
benpicko Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 Sickening amount of out of touch fans on Twitter chatting shit about this. I'd love him to get a call up and just romp it with his pace. People on facebook saying that this would ruin the England team even more, because we should be calling up based on talent and consistent performances. Others saying that we'll be a laughing stock for having players who don't play for big teams. All pretty funny. Seems as though right now people complain that we only give players from the big teams chances despite inconsistencies, but if we move away from that people will slate them for scraping the barrel for talent.
wc-remix Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 Says a lot about the state of English football if a bloke who has scored one top flight goal is even in contention to receive an English call-up. Ffs.
benpicko Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 Says a lot about the state of English football if a bloke who has scored one top flight goal is even in contention to receive an English call-up. Ffs. Why does it? Who's to say that a lot more players than we're made to believe aren't also in contention, just being watched week in, week out, monitored to see how they'll fit into the squad, but that Vardy makes a better story than most of them? Does it also say a lot about the state of Argentinian football that a 28 year old player who's only played 6 matches in top flight English football is suddenly being considered? Surely it would say a lot more about the state of English football if players from all over weren't being monitored and we only began to consider players who have already gained massive success, even if they wouldn't necessarily fit into the international squad?
Rob1742 Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 Says a lot about the state of English football if a bloke who has scored one top flight goal is even in contention to receive an English call-up. Ffs. I agree. I like Vardy, but considering him for England shows how far we have fallen with regards our International level. The options available to the England manager is quite scary and won't stop unless we get a cap on the amount of foreign players and bring the youth through the English clubs. Unfortunately for me it is - last one out turn out the lights with regards to the international team. I don't even bother watching England anymore and the influx of foreign players has brought this conclusion. The Premier League has largely killed of the International prospects for our home nations and in addition has caused untold problems for the non premier league domestic teams. One gain is another loss
lgfualol Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 Says a lot about the state of English football if a bloke who has scored one top flight goal is even in contention to receive an English call-up. Ffs. Plenty of players have been called up for not doing anything or just because they're in the reserves of a big team. E.g Andros Townsend Most of them in top clubs don't care about playing for England. At least Vardy will will.
Monsell1976 Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 He's only played two premier league games, and I already have said he's not ready in my opinion. I wouldn't pick him for a qualifier, but if they wanted to have a look at him, it wouldn't hurt in a meaningless friendly, just don't get all the hate. The only reason I think their is a lot of hate on social media is because we are not one of the elite clubs, if he was a young unknown from Man U nothing would be said, zaha got a cap when he was at Man U, vardy is as good on his day, if not better

shailen Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 that performance against United was the most devastating performance I've seen from an English player this season. 1 goal and 4 assists. He has unreal pace, even Rooney who is lightning quick couldn't catch him up. Shouldnt judge a player on 1 game but he was impressive last season as well so it's on the basis of 1.5 seasons.
Silverdaz Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 I would put him on the bench for Burnley as I think he is now thinking he is better than he actually is after his Mun Utd exploits
Guest Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 People just want to complain How unlike Foxestalk!
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 I would put him on the bench for Burnley as I think he is now thinking he is better than he actually is after his Mun Utd exploits What on earth makes you think that? He was out injured and made his first start, played his heart out like he did week in week out last season. He's got his head screwed on and will play as usual whenever asked. If you're judging him on the Palace performance - he had a good shot very well saved, earnt a penalty (not given but probably would have done any other day) and otherwise got hardly any service
lgfualol Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 He has unreal pace, even Rooney who is lightning quick couldn't catch him up. What
Humpy Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 This probably won’t go down well, but is Vardy good enough for a regular starting place for England? I don’t believe he is to be honest, not yet anyway. From a Leicester point of view it would be fantastic to have an England international in your team but I honestly think the rumours will have a negative effect on the player. I’ve seen it happen to a few players in the past who will go completely off the boil when being linked to or getting picked for England. Wilfred Zaha, Francis Jeffers, Michael Ball even your own David Nugent (then at Preston) lost form when the rumours started circulating that they were going to be picked for England. From an outsiders point of view I’d want to keep your ‘hidden gem’ hidden for as long as you can, he has talent, of that there is no doubt, but the last thing you want is for him to lose his focus with Leicester for a chance to play half a game of football for England in a friendly. Maybe next season when Leicester are established in the Premiership it might be the right time to call him, but until then, if I was a Leicester fan I wouldn’t want him anywhere near the England team.
lgfualol Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 I dont get the problem with him coming off the bench vs San Marino for example. I've seen so many people complaining about it. Might as well give new players a shot rather than the same lot that will always be disappointing to watch, same old same old shitty boring England.
lgfualol Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 This probably won’t go down well, but is Vardy good enough for a regular starting place for England? For teams like Estonia, Andorra and San Marino he bloody is.
Haydos Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 I would put him on the bench for Burnley as I think he is now thinking he is better than he actually is after his Mun Utd exploits Based on what?!
DanTheFox07 Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 interesting post, but Saying we wouldn't want him anywhere near the England team wouldn't be something any Leicester fan would want to deny him the opportunity to have.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 How come Tiger? I looked hard into my crystal ball, and he just didn't appear in an England shirt, no matter how many times I looked. Seriously, he is a fine player, but will surely have to show some consistency at this level. With a good season behind him, he could / will be in with a shout. Everyone on their knees please. Now let us pray.
Dickov22 Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 Got to be between him and Berahino for the next squad. Surely Lambert won't get a look in
The Year Of The Fox Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 For teams like Estonia, Andorra and San Marino he bloody is. Correct. They're of no higher standard than league 2 sides. I'd love to see him I think he'd run riot. As he's quite a bit older than most debutants he'd probably have retired before they can coach his directness out of him
Leicesterpool Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 I do believe he'll get call up before the season out but I don't think he'll be called up just yet, he's only played three premier league games. Me of course I'd throw him in straight away, but I'm expecting to see Lambert keeping his place despite the late poor of form.
Fox92 Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 Got to be between him and Berahino for the next squad. Surely Lambert won't get a look in Despite not playing regular, he probably will still get a look in because of the club he plays for.
