Shame he and the team didn't play well yesterday.

Shame he and the team didn't play well yesterday. "It is understood England assistant manager Ray Lewington was in attendance at Selhurst Park to watch Vardy in Leicester’s 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace." No chance then!
Finnaldo Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 The one fooking game he had to turn up to Hopefully he'll destroy Burnley and there's an England representative there. Would be great if he could get an England call-up.
lgfualol Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 Would be good. Let's hope if he does, it will be a Man U/last season performance and not yesterday.
Monsell1976 Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 Vardy has done amazing the past 12 months, or so, but I expect england would like to watch him up against top defenders for a bit longer before he gets his chance. He only really played against Man U, which he was awesome, and palace, which he was average, if he can play like the Man U game on a regular basis, I think he will get his chance, but he's not ready yet for me.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 Would actually watch England if he got called up
Buzzell Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 A few more performances from him like the Man Utd one then why not? His improvement as a player is sensational.
Dan Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 "Fine form in recent weeks" I love Vardy, but he's played twice this season. TWO GAMES. I genuinely think his style of play could be an asset for England, but if they're really basing it on this season and nothing but that, then they're going to get it wrong more times than they get it right.
MPH Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 Might be a few more years before he gets in if it was the Palace game he saw... ( no one played that well)
Sir Shep Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 This surprises me as I'd have thought the England management would want to monitor him a few more times. Still that said he's certainly better in ability and attitude then a lot of the dross that seems to get picked. Expect a Liverpool bid in January then!
Fox92 Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 Imagine Vardy playing International football. What a rise. I know he wouldn't be the first, but it just shows any footballer it can happen.
sdb Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 Good player and the standard of the national side is very poor, so not a massive surprise to me.
Spudulike Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 Ray Lewington was more likely watching 'One of our own'.
Tuna Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 If Jay Bothroyd, Carlton Cole and Kevin feckin Davies can play for England... Who was the last City player to be called up for England? Ian Walker?
Sir Shep Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 If Jay Bothroyd, Carlton Cole and Kevin feckin Davies can play for England... Who was the last City player to be called up for England? Ian Walker? Ian Walker, then Steve Guppy and Emile Heskey, before that I'm struggling as it must have been the 80's or 70's or a time when we only used to have 3 TV channels!
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 I really can't envisage Vardy getting an England call up this season.
Unabomber Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 I really can't envisage Vardy getting an England call up this season. How come Tiger?
fuchsntf Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 Good player and the standard of the national side is very poor, so not a massive surprise to me.Some sort of throw away statement. 'National side poor'. We have new players, we are going through a rebuilding period. We just beat the Swiss on their own patch, who themselves came off a good W.Cup performance, and ranked higher than England. Biggest problem in England like Terry Venables once mentioned, is the overrating of our expectations, and false thoughts where our ranking should be on the world or even Europen stage. Support what we have and not we dream we have. A bit like following city really.

Just because there are some young players coming through doesn't mean we're good. We're not.
Father Ted Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 It's San Marino and Estonia. Two shit sides. Sturridge out injured leaves a space free for a 'new' striker to the fold. Must be Vardy surely. I think Roy will give him his chance - hopefully they've seen bits of what he did last season.

This England team/squad have played 1 game, no more...so the 'doesnt mean we're good. we're not , seems your are not prepared to give any leeway what so ever. Our dream team, or other turnouts, in the last 20yrs never achieved too much either.

MattGamble92 Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 People overrate and over think international football in general. What we have lacked through the holden generation is genuine pace and penetration. We have that now. And we have it in abundance when everyone is fit. I certainly think we have enough to keep qualifying for major tournaments and when you get there it only takes a bit of confidence, luck, and the quality we still possess to have a good tournament. I still believe ......
benpicko Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 Would be the most hated player of all time, dives against Man United and plays for England
